The fat refugees from Somalia that the Feds dumped in my upper-middle class neighborhood, all on our tax dollars, look like they could fast 365/24/7 and it would be years before they got under 300lbs. It's kinda like the illegal alien children at the border from impoverished backgrouns who need 6xx underwear. When are we going to get smart and stop letting all the human bio-trash into our country?
Apparently, Sam, the government regards you as the king monster blob of bio-trash. In attempt to cancel your vile ignorant grasp on Your KKK membership, they figured that if they put enough Somalis in your "upper-middle class trailer park" they might have a chance of caneling your personality out. Obviously it is going to take far more legal immigrants than in their original calculations.
Sam, if they are fat refugees, nine times out of ten they are eating trash carbs, which are cheap (and often, subsidized), and nearly without any real nutritional value. But it is what they have the only choice of eating.
Here's the dirty little secret of Ramadan: the wealthy Arab Muslims sleep all day, have a nice big breakfast when the sun goes down, stay up all night eating and drinking all they want, have a nice big meal right before sunrise, then go back to sleep all day.
Yep, they're making quite a sacrifice. [/sarc]
... And this is perhaps one percent of the population?
I notice Ramadan seems to shift around the year. Dawn to dusk fasting must be pretty rough in the summer! (Wishing the adherents success, however.)
It varies according to lunar phases, so yes, it shifts every year. This is one of the longest daily fasts they've had in a while. Although ... it's an easy one in the southern hemisphere!
Yep, if I were an adherent, I'd prefer living in the Southern Hemisphere this round!!
Fasting dawn to dusk is easy when you sleep all day.
