Pssst! Got a sec to chat? We are utterly thrilled when readers want to hang out and talk – whether it's amongst themselves or in response to pieces we've posted. We want Eatocracy to be a cozy, spirited online home for those who find their way here.
Consider the weekly Coffee Klatsch post as your VIP lounge – the primary comments thread for readers who'd like to chat about topics not related to the articles we're running. That way, everyone knows where to find each other, and each post's comments section remains on topic. Grilled up some Ribeyes last night-in the rain. Must be Washington. Did some roasted garlic-rosemary potatoes to go with. Oh yeah-a side of fresh spinach out of the garden. Was pretty damn good if I do say so myself :)
Don't be a WUSS-A golf umbrella works wonders while Naked Grilling-or pull the grilling apron over your head. You shall remain anonymous……..
Hey! Only a wuss would USE an umbrella while nekkid grillin'. I was out there loud and proud soakin' up the liquid sunshine :) Actually I've toyed around with the idea of putting an umbrella on the ole grill somehow........
If you've got an umbrella attached to your grille, how do you eat? Also, and tangent too, during nekkid grilling, I'm a firm believer in wrapping your meat before working it so it doesn't get soft too soon ... wait ... what were we talking about? ~_~
Six inch chicken salad sub. Check.
Fresh ingredients just like the commercials say? Check.
Nice selection of toppings & spreads. Check, check.
Comfortable place to sit & eat? Not so much.
If you're on the go, it's a good place to stop & create a a sub for the road. However, when you want to stop for lunch and have a leisurely break in your work day, make sure it's not 96 degrees out with 98% humidity 'cuz there's no place to eat inside where it's air conditioned. Otherwise they were good eats.
Thanks to all who chimed in on my query.
Wow. Only 6 inches?
Sometimes one is hungry for only so many inches. I DID have to get back to work ... eventually. ~_~
Should we call the WAWAmmmmmmbulance ???
Two, count 'em TWO WAWAmbulances pulled in & out while I was there. I'm detecting a pattern ....
I would suspect Mr.Sal Mo Nella had made a guest appearance-or….My client needs to take a WAWA. May I have extra napkins with that Please ?? WaWasha Ur Hands…….
Maybe this is what you were hoping for.
Me, next time I'm in D.C. I'm going to check it out.
Whew! Leave it to our nation's capital to come up with gourmet gas. I wonder if Sir Bid had anything to do with it.
Glad ya checked it out! What were the specialty drinks?
Saw the button on the screen, but didn't check. Is that a "thing" there, too?
Happy Friday to all! Anything special planned for your weekend?
Not here, last weekend was pretty busy so I hope to do nothing much this weekend. How about you?
Nothing planned. Hubby's had a rough week so we're keeping our options open. Thank you for asking.

Uh oh. Workpress is thinking again.
Good Friday morning, girls! I'm with Mary Shannon, I'm taking it easy this weekend. Last weekend was busy & next weekend is too. I need some downtime.
AleeD, Did ya make it to Wawas yet?
I'm going today. ;)
Work, work, work........sigh.
4 day weekend next week though!
Four? Lucky dog. Why for four?
Gotz the 4th off and every other week I have a 3 day weekend.
Due to unusually high player, viewer and fan apathy, the USA – Germany World Cup game has been forfeited by both sides. The game will not be rescheduled.
You may now return to your regularly scheduled Eatocracy.
Apathy? Not in my home or office. I have three monitors and I'm multislacking; busy stuff on one, this stuff on the other and the USA Germany game on the other. This game is a conundrum for me. I'm a big fan of Germany, but USA USA!
This might be the best game ever!
Germany made a great goal. Beautiful. Our goalie was quick but that return cross was quicker. I was disappointed in team USA, they didn't seem be playing their A game. Where was the offense? Maybe our offense was off the field watching Portugal play...
Learned about this yesterday at a tech summit.
Here is a 30 sec. lunch time amusement. I like the first photo best
Hmmm, guess I'm the 1st one in today. Coffee's on & long johns for all. AleeD, There are xtras, you may take them to the dungeon. Lol!
Happy hump day! No wait, that would be, "humpy hap day"! ( I'm learning. Lol!)
Wow. Long johns?
MmmmHmmmm, custard filled.
Now you can twist that anyway ya want. I'm talking donuts, tho. Lol!
I was thinking the same thing, long johns in June?
Well I finally got a hold of Mr. Inspector yesterday, so they are scheduled to go out on Monday, 3+ weeks after the initial request. So, I decided last night to go for a getaway this weekend...Waikiki Beach here I come. That should help ease my pain a little. At least a change of scenary!
Nice little getaway, enjoy!
Thanks, I did this in February too, have miles and points will travel! :)
Pick up a hula skirt before you leave so you can do a proper "my home is inspected and now I can move in" dance.
Ha! IF they show up Monday, and IF we pass inspection, I'm still looking at 1-2 weeks more for utility meters installed...ugh, then mom has surgery on 7/14, so the irony is it will probably be ready then and I won't be able to move in because I'm in Phoenix!! fuster cluck if i ever saw one
Oh how nice, Hawaii! Sounds great!
Sorry to hear your Mom has to have surgery, tho. Maybe August will be a better month for ya. (crossing my fingers)
@Weeds. I chuckled at the hula skirt idea!
This just in...people really suque...
And its even sadder to think that people may have donated that money if they knew the real story anyway, no need to create a con.
Guilty until proven innocent?
From the articles I've read, the KFC investigators (hired by the local chain, not corporate) have not been able to confirm this occurred. In backwards, truth speak, they can not deny this event occurred. Much like Christie's personal investigation exonerated him from a bridge incident (federal investigators haven't, yet). In both cases the facts are not all in. The issue, thanks to the lack of sensationalist news elsewhere, (no missing airplanes, no no-name celebrities getting arrested in wild fashion) has allowed this story to be blown out of proportion.
I'm going to side with the girls family. It started as a story of being wronged and no one was rushing to court looking for compensation.
It's nice to see that people do care and are helping this poor little girl get a smile back that she can enjoy in the mirror. At worse case we can be glad her face wasn't disfigured by her husband because his family was unsatisfied with the child bride marriage. But being attacked by three family owned pit bulls ranks up there.
Howdy everybody! Just thought I'd breeze through here, but I might have to come back for another visit. Good day to all you ladies and gents.
the CB that used to hang out at the Marquee and This Just In?
You may be right, but you might be wrong. You will never know for sure. Did I hear somebody was headed to Hawaii soon? Well, I will be that cool, tropical breeze that caresses your face. I hope you will think of me.
I am assuming this Kat runs the place. I hope your dog has a speedy recovery.
you are, the folks on those two blogs, that were not trolls, posted kind things about you.
I still want to throw things because of that stupid last second equalizer
Got your Jeep done? (I hate car problems)
I just thought of some good news..Saturday I figured out how to cook a frozen pizza on a GF grill! :) Chipotle chicken pizza from CPK, not bad.
Calif. Pizza Kitchen
Thanks, ya "know-more-than-I". Lol!
Have you ever used a NuWave oven? I bought one about 4 months ago and I seriously have only used my regular big oven twice in that time. I have baked in it, cooked steaks, pork chops, chicken, etc. and am really happy with the results so far. I haven't done pizza in it yet, but I've seen where other people have.
Monday...arrgghh. I agree about Monday being my least favorite day. Weekends are way too quick. Anyone do anything fun? I saw my friend's daughter in a play yesterday, it was pretty funny.
Saturday I went to a Wiz of Oz festival & I met a little lady who was married to one of the munchkin guards. In the theatre that night, they played Dark Side of the Moon (the whole album) while showing the Oz movie. The movie was muted. That was cool!
It has far more effect if you are a little baked when you do it.
Lol! You're right. 😄
There is an amazing free online event coming up in a couple of weeks about growing your own food, food system issues, mushrooms, and much more. It will feature brilliant presenters, including Joel Salatin. Register to participate and watch: https://nf130.isrefer.com/go/foodreg/thismomgig/
Good morning all! Of all the days I hate the most, Monday is my favorite. Lol!
AleeD, My friend in NH agrees with Jerv & said Wawas is great! She, also, said they have good specialty drinks. She said you must try it. 😃
JBJ, Any good news?
Mary Shannon, Did ya bring the pool boy home with ya? (giggling)
Last but not least. Kat, How's your baby doing???
She is much, much better! More tests ahead now that she's more stable, but out of the woods for now. You are lovely for asking.
I sure hope the tests all come out ok. Still sending W & F thoughts! 😊
Ah, no good news...inspectors won't commit to a date, so now I'm calling the Dept of Housing who supervises said inspectors leaving multiple messages since he won't take my call! Hmmm, next up will be a call from Eyewitness News...
Great news on the puppy Kat! LOL. "Puppy cat" is what I used to call Odie.
Eyewitness news should put a flame under their...
Sorry, wish they'd get it together.
Not enough room in the luggage, too bad :-)
Awww, bummer. Lol!
Thanks for the tip. I may have the chance to try 'em out this week.
Lmk what ya think. Seems to be the rave. My friends hubby really likes the subs & she likes the drinks. I never did ask her what kind of drinks they were, tho. Hmmm...
Dame Judi Dench studies the script offering from the new movie, 23 Jump Street. "Something just doesn't add up."
That's Tyne Daly, not Dame Judi Dench.
Love to. Let's see it.
