Today, a federal appeals court decided to uphold California's statewide ban on the production and sale of foie gras, the French delicacy of fattened duck or goose liver. The ban went into effect on July 1, 2012.
The plaintiffs - the Association des Eleveurs de Canards et d’Oies du Quebec (a Canadian association of duck and geese farmers), California-based Hot's Restaurant Group and New York's Hudson Valley Foie Gras - asserted the ban interfered with interstate commerce and was too vaguely worded.
Judge Harry Pregerson wrote the opinion for the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, saying: "Plaintiffs give us no reason to doubt that the State believed that the sales ban in California may discourage the consumption of products produced by force feeding birds and prevent complicity in a practice that it deemed cruel to animals."
Foie'll be back? California chefs may duck around food ban
Clarified – Is foie gras fair game or foul play?
???? ??????? ?? ?? http://fuguchuajm.casiojpdonimpact.org/
I don't have a problem with foie gras, especially if you can get it on sale.
Good freakin grief! Like Andrew says-if it looks good, eat it. No different than raising a hog specifically for bacon. God I love bacon. I've actually never had foie gras, but it's one of those tastes like good caviar that I really want to try.
I'm delighted the Ban on Foie Gras has been upheld well done. It is inhumane and disgusting. Now the work really starts, we must end how we abuse other species for our own selfish gain. We as human animals have a choice to eat meat, non human animals do not have a choice. To cage, torture, cause suffering and force feed and then murder other species is wrong, wrong, wrong. How would we like to be treated, certainly not in this way. Non human animals deserve a right to life. They deserve to live as they should without human intervention. We are the largest sickest predator on this planet. Please go vegan.
How's it feel to be a minority?
It is not any more inhumane than not letting ducks sleep in beds, piss in toilets, and watch football. What *sounds* inhumane to a human, is actually not a problem for an animal with a different physiology. The ducks actually love it.
I agree, if we kept a human in a cage and force fed him/her till they where sick and there belly and liver was fit to bursting there would be an outcry from human rights activists and we would go to jail.. We should not let animals we eat suffer throughout there lives before they end up on our plates. If we eat meat we should never buy intensively farmed animals and never buy if the Animal has not had the best quality of life, If we eat it we should respect it.. And let them die with dignity and without fear. I also think that abattoirs should have a restriction on the number of Animals that are taken in for slaughter on a daily basis. They have far too many at one time and are on a time scale to get them through, whereby a lot of them are not stunned properly and when they are hoisted up to be bled they can start to regain consciousness which is awful. So one thing we can do it write to the government and abattoirs and insist they restrict the numbers of cattle etc. entering any slaughter house at any one time so the animal does not feel stressed or frightened.
"... 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, saying: ... " If there's a way to get it wrong, this bunch of Bozos will find it.
New-age, California hippies. I hate California...
The vitriol on this comments page is not enlightening, it's as disgusting as the people who enjoy eating tortured animals, and not to be out done by the lovely souls that torture the animals every 8 hours. Here's an interesting tidbit. Animals under stress are doused with adrenaline and other stress related hormones that you end up eating. Maybe this explains the inbred cruelty of those who think only of their palate and not of the suffering of the animals they eat. It seems it takes a long time for some people to wake up and understand that they are what they eat.
Hate much? Looks like you can get vitriol from anything. The difference is we enjoy our food and dissipate hate while doing so, while you are consumed from the inside and are digesting yourself in your own acid.
What's the difference? These ducks will still be stuffed for their meat instead of their liver now.
The people who would do this to a duck are one step removed from the people who would butcher that cartload of mashed up dogs in Thailand that was shown all over the news earlier this year..they need to be dragged into the 21st century and California once again is leading the way!
why is it always that a small group of idiots gets to decide what everyone else is allowed to do these days? hope the wildfires finally burn down the entire state so I can stop hearing about California.
What's entertaining is that the same folks who are concerned about ducks often do not extend that same courtesy to the human fetus.
make foie gras from babies!
A fetus growing inside a woman and the decision to terminate under extenuating circumstances is not the same as taking another living being to whom you have no connection, force feeding that being for your own culinary likes and then slaughtering it. Killing an animal for food is one thing and prolonged torturing it in the process is a completely different and despicable thing.
If someone wants to take a duck which has, on its own choosing, fattened its liver up for the migration, then so be it. Can these lovers of foie gras imagine being force fed even once?
After reading about how animals raised for food are treated, I've come to the conclusion that we humans don't deserve to ever be put in charge of any animal's life. We're just not responsible enough. We seem to think that it's our right to have anything we want, just because we want it. It never seems to occur to us to do without something-we feel so entitled. We act as though our pleasure is the only thing in the world that counts.
Anyone who wants to eat meat should be required to raise it and kill it themselves.
I wouldn't mind that. But the PETA crusaders would probably make the lot of us omnivores target #1 in their crusade since we'd be such easy targets (private homes).
PETA is not advocating vegetarianism. On the other hand, they are only standing for the ethical and humane treatment of animals. Sometimes they may go overboard but the core objective is to treat these animals well.
No problem, wuz. Shot two squirrels out of a tree in back only this morning. The grill is heating.
I had foie gras in Paris and loved it. Going back this fall and will order it again.
Sick, those poor ducks. They're tourchered. This should be banned nation wide.
Perhaps you should learn to spell if you want people to take your comments seriously.
Perhaps you should learn to be a caring human being before you criticize someone's spelling. I that the depths of your feelings? I guess it is.
"I guess... " All you know about it. Typical.
Perhaps you should be less anal about spellings and focus more on topic to be taken seriously.
If you can't present your position in an understandable way, it's a waste of time. It does indeed undermine his credibility. You vegans are interesting, but I haven't seen where many people care how you eat, yet you folks seem to want to dictate to meat eaters...I love foie gras – and don't particularly care how it's made. If you think for a moment that high brow parties in CA won't have foie gras – think again. What the kooks have done is simply reserved foie gras for the elites.
Take a long walk off a short plank and join your fellow self righteous grammar n a z i s at the bottom of the ocean.
Grammar N a z i s. Really? Expecting a person to learn to speak properly is the equivalent of sending people to gas chambers? Really? Is it any wonder that no one takes Vegans seriously? You all seem to care more about telling everyone else what to eat than in learning how to do it.
Self-righteous – not "self righteous". Back to class now, sonny. Recess is over. Quickly now... that's a good boy...
Anal huh? Eat some goose anus. Why not? Don't see how that's any more disgusting than some nasty liver.
b. Indicating personality traits that originated during toilet training and are distinguished as anal-expulsive or anal-retentive.
Your lack of vocabulary is astounding.
I feel more sorry for people who have to live in California than the ducks!
"There is a place for all of God's creatures."
Right next to the mashed potatoes.
we'll put that on your tombstone and the one next to yours.
please remove me off this list I hate spam
Since you already have a fatty brain that doesn't function anyway. You should be fed to those ducks so that French can have a nice meal.
The California elite will have all the delicious duck livers they want.
I don't know you, but I am sure I love you.
God I hate California! I hope the big one hits soon so the rest of the US can be free of their simpering leftist stupidity!
Awww. I'm sure your lifestyles helps you to be the gorgeous piece of humanity that you truly are. Your compassion is overwhelming.
I have had vegetarian "foie gras" and it is quite delicious. Once paired with some nice gourmet crackers and a nice white wine, one does not wish for poor birds' livers after having been forcibly fed.
Yes, yes one does.
Your comment re-written:
I have had some "nice" vegetarian "foie gras" and it is quite "nicely" delicious. Once paired with some nice gourmet crackers and a nice white wine, one does not wish for the poor birds' "nice" livers after having been "nicely" forcibly fed.
Don't forget the fava beans and chianti.
If you love animals so much, why do you keep eating their food?
Animal's food. Why take their delicious grains and vegetables away from them? You should be ashamed of yourself for eating grains thereby forcing the price of grain higher and making it too expensive to give to poor little animals. Why do vegans hate animals so much?? Won't someone think of the animals???
Great ,even being French i don't agree with that ,but what about all the others animals :cows ,chicken ?many people speak about the Foie gras ,but eat each days hamburgers .....and they don't realise how are kill the animals in slaughterhouses ,or how are treat the chicken ,in small spaces ,sometimes never seeing the light of the days ,we need to stop eating all the animals ,all the animals suffer
They are force-fed. Did you miss it?
It bothers not the vegan when a fox eats a rabbit. What difference is there if I eat one ? Answer that, you pasty skinned poorly-nourished bark eaters. PS – what do you feed your cats ?
The difference is that the fox kills the rabbit. I'm guessing you don't slaughter that animals that make up your meals.
When foie gras is outlawed, only outlaws will have foie gras.
Let the smuggling begin!
I love the pretentious @##$@ on here. They love themselves, oh they talk about foie gras, and wine, meanwhile last time I checked they still get sick and still have to run to the bathroom like everyone else and when your time is up its up no matter how much money you have or how much foie gras you ate :) The circle of life is such an equalizer it should be humbling but somehow people forget they can't outrun a tsunami no matter how special they think they are. LOL get over yourselves'. I'd like to take you and force a large tube down your throat and force fee you for a few weeks in a box.
Aren't you a sweetie pie.
Geese and ducks raised for foie gras aren't raised in boxes. You're projecting what's done with chickens.
And forcing a tube down a human throat is entirely different from doing the same to a duck or goose. Humans have a gag reflex that makes such a thing extremely unpleasant. Geese and ducks don't. The birds don't shy away when their feeder approaches, even after repeated tube feedings. In fact, they jostle each other, shoving their way toward the front, just as they do when fed normally.
Get a grip on reality.
Oh, yes, yes, I've been a bad boy. Punish me, punish me before I eat again.
I'm quite certain you have had a few 'Large Tubes' down your throat already this week. People Eating Tasty Animals, that is how it should be.
A bunch pretentious a-holes on here talking about how to prepare foie gras, like their something special. I be they think they s&^% gold bricks. I'd like to take you and force a tube down your throat and force feed you in a box for a few weeks.
Love foie gras.
Once again, my state lives down to its reputation for being burdened with bureaucrats and Legislators who are systematically taking all the douceurs out of life. Case in point, when a few beach fire rings were causing irritation to a few householders in Newport Beach, the Coastal Commission came back with a typical-for-California draconian plan to eliminate all beach fire rings, everywhere in California. Fortunately, popular resistance forced the Coastal Commission to back off. Sadly, now that the "animal rights" community has succeeded in buffaloing the Legislature into banning pâté de foie gras, will veal be far behind? What about beef? If they have their way, we'll all be reduced to nut cutlets, and, if such views are carried to their logical conclusion, to self-starvation.
NEWSFLASH !!!!! There are other things to eat in this world besides killing living animals ( especially cruelly )....
But none taste as good.
You kind of have to kill live animals, because you can't kill them when they're dead!!!
Idiots like you should be banned from California. Why don't you buy some ducks and force feed them yourself and prepare your own fart meal or whatever that is called.
You're not from around here, are you?
A similar ban on horsemeat was attempted in Ontario, Canada a while back. It was met with howls of outrage, and the ban was overturned.
To celebrate, a Toronto restaurant crafted a special dinner plate, consisting of horse tenderloin served alongside foie gras.
They dubbed it "The Quack and Track".
Doesn't matter. The law contains enough loopholes to allow import from elsewhere – hardly a problem, since little foie gras is produced in California, anyway.
At worst, Californians pining for luscious foie gras can simply drive to Las Vegas – or other neighboring states – and have their fill of it.
Anyone who doesn't eat living things, please feel free to die!
Foie Gras is very good. Way better than any other liver (calf / cow or chicken liver is not so good... actually gross). But foie gras is wonderful! Very rich. Served over a poached pear with a fine white burgundy... hard to top. As for the animals... face it, it is no fun to be a meal. It sucks to be a duck or a goose... no fun to be a cow or a pig or a lamb... or a pheasant... or a fish... . No fun to be a human and eaten by a lion or Shark... but in all cases it is the circle of life. We are all food for the worms some day... so enjoy everything you eat.... the worms will not mind that you ate a fattened goose liver.
There is a difference between being humanely raised and slaughtered and being forced fed and slaughtered.
What difference is there? You seem ignorant of the fact that while humans have a gag reflex, ducks and geese do not, and they will crowd around their feeder jostling for their turn even after repeated exposures. I don't think it's any more cruel than raising any animal for consumption.
that much food in a duck's stomach has to be incredibly painful.
always the same ,like i already said ,we can't compare animals eating others animals in the wild ,and humans eating meat from animals they didn't kill ,in the wild the animals have a chance to escape ,the weaker will lose, the humans eat meat kill by others people ,and in slaughterhouses for example ,the animals are kill without a possibility to fight for their survival ,and the meat today is full of hormones ,antibiotics ,Foie gras is full of the toxins of the animals,it is a necrosis liver
You keep segregating us , we are animals also, or have you forgotten?
Says a moron. Please do what he says.
Life is still the leading cause of death in this country!!!
So you cant sell it but here in Chicago they give it to you complimentary with the meal. Very cleaver. No laws about giving it away.
Go Broke! you and your business is disgusting....I hope you have nothing left at the end of the day....
This just mades me sick. Imagine doing something like that to humans. I stopped eating beef and pork four years ago on the advice of my vegetarian oncologist (doctor). He told me that science is moving closer to admitting that the wonder drugs that we are feeding to the animals to fatten them up is causing the cancers we are seeing. Chicken is next on my prohibition list, but I don't want to give up eating fish. Does anyone have any ideas on this?
ducks aren't humans. that is no comparison.
Being a vegetarian is your choice, I prefer to be a meat eater. Don't impose your diet on me!
I grow my own fruit and vegetables. Let's see you grow your own cow and make it into a burger.
I bet your mommy says you are special... just like a snowflake- grow up you stupid git. So because you grow your own food you are something special? Please spare me O' holier than thou. Everyone does stuff that is crappy to something- people that eat meat, eat meat that is grown specifically for consumption. You drive a car? You add to the pollution on our planet. You use paper? Yes? Well, you just helped cut down a tree. So, guess what- you act shitty about something too- so what? now are you going to walk everywhere? Not wear leather? Not use unrecycled paper? How bout not wearing clothes that 8 year old kids had to sweat to make for 5$ a month salary. God I hate you idiots that point fingers because someone messed with your special cause but when you mess with other causes it doesn't count cause you are special- mommy told me so
" Imagine doing something like that to humans."
Yeah, that's the beginning and ending point for all objections to foie gras production. Which is stupid and pointless – because unlike humans, birds don't have a gag reflex. You're appealing to human experience, which in this case is nothing whatsoever like the experience of the animals in question.
I know it's hard, but at least attempt to come up with a rational basis for your objections.
What does gag reflex have to do with anything? If that's your entire counterpoint, are you saying it would be A-OK to do that to a human who was born without the gag reflex (or to one of my ex girlfriends who had managed to overcome it, much to my delight) ?
Yes, just like your father and sister did, much to the football teams delight !!!
I see people that do that to them selves every single day.
They usually order a diet coke with the 5 MC doubles.
i agree totally with you and this doctor ,i stop to eat fish too ,the way they die is very crua,l it is like we will stay without air ,suffocating ,and also the fish now are full of mercury ,and the oceans are polluted ,anyway all animals have to be respected
I tried a vegetarian diet once, but they were too hard to catch and they were too skrawny.
What about all the mercury and heavy metals in fish?
Mmmmmm brains!!!!!! Next they will try to stop selling Weiner's and penis meat
These left-wing half-wits are all alike. All emotion and oblivious to logic. What I can't believe is the politicians pander to these crybabies
Does it seem strange to anyone that people will fight through the highest courts for proper animal treatment but remain hushed on child abusers and molesters? An animal is food. Humans are the ones that have domesticated them, turned them into pets and who require all this correct treatment. WHile we have people starving within our borders. Animals are treated so because we are a nation of gluttons and we want our food, but want to shut the farms down. The rate the country is going, the movie 'Soylent Green" may become actuality. Put your hard efforts behind the rights of humans not the food sources.
An animal is NOT food for you while you have choices. Don't believe the crap in that holy book you are reading these days. Animals have life as you do. Imagine someone walking towards you with intention to cut you up and smoke it for the party.
Whether these birds have food stuffed down their mouths or they eat willingly is not the issue. It is the fact that we know, or should know that it is wrong to torture or manipulate and not respect things that give their lives to sustain us.
I'd even venture to say that we should also find it immoral to kill another specie's youth for food.
I just know if humans were a food source I wouldn't want us to be treated the way we treat anything that we eat.
Lets see dolphins eat other animals, youngand old, pigs eat animals, when allowed, fish eat fish, deer will et eggs out of low nets, chimpanzees eat flesh, on and on, humans are animals. We eat animals, it isn't going away. If you are a vegaterian, so be it, that is your call, I eat meat, I hunt it, shoot it, skin it and store and eat it. Its who I am, I have no friendswho are vegaterian, but most vegayarians are not my type of people, that Iis people whowish to control what others do because of their conscience, my conscience is clean.
Stylus typing blows. I like keyboards.
but the big difference is that the humans treat the animals like pets ,they control their life ,keep them in captivity and after eta them ,the animals kills the animals in nature ,hunt them and eat them ,the humans eat meat, but they ask to others people to kill them ,if we really had to kill ourselves the animals we eat ,i am sure most of the people will stop to eat meat .When an animal kill an other animal in the wild , they have a chance to escape ,they can fight for their survival ,and the weaker will lose ,how animals are kill in slaughterhouses for example ,gives no chance to the animals ,a cowardly way to kill them
This is so illogical and emotional as to be unworthy of a real adult position. I can't believe the vitriol that animals-as-food issues elicit. This has been the way of the world since people have existed. Your so-called progressive attitude is laughable when you consider the myriad of issues we face as a society as people waste their time and energy passing laws about the feeding of ducks.
And if pigs could fly we would have to carry steel umbrellas.
Have you ever visited a duck farm? I have visited several in Southwest France and watched the ducks being "force"fed. You would think that if they didn't like being fed they'd run away from the farmer but they don't – they hang around quite happily. This is just one more ridiculous ban engineered by a loudmouthed minority.
Why would I eat a stuffed liver? A filter for all that's bad in the body? As disgusting as the pure idea of doing this. Go happy eating this crap, Frank. If you don't, why write here?
Uh – lots of migratory fowl store fat in their livers naturally. It's how they manage to migrate, remaining in flight for days or weeks at a time without stopping for food. In production, they're feed grain. Their bodies turn it into fat, which is preferentially stored in the liver. No nastiness involved.
Sorry. Facts are a biatch, I know.
If you really ever raised ducks youd know they will let humans do this because they are sweet creatures. Its not like they have a choice. Whats wrong with eating just plain ole natural duck GEEZ
Because they look happy its ok to kill them. You look happy too, lets butcher you and throw a party in my neighborhood.
Were supposed to b at the begining of an era beyond bigotry, racism, and all discrimination?
Whats the difference beween an ash tree and a bark beetle? How about a carp or big blue stem? An osprey or a bass minnow? Chestnut or hairy vetch? Absolutely nothing. All r beings equally valuable in the niches this planet and the cosmos has afforded us. To eat venison is to eat thy fig. Death n life, life n death. None above the other, to each his own. Lifes too short. Would we tell the griz to spare a fawn, if we claim we r human, we place ourselves above the griz, i love animals too much to say im better. I am an animal, we r animals. The centralized movement should b to thy middle. Left plus right equals devastating combinations not just n boxing but the world over. Educate yourself
Seriously, step away from the pipe, man... I really hope you are not allowed outside without some kind of leash and or handler who has you in sight at all times. You sound like you would drown in a rain storm
I'm glad the court upheld this ban. I'm also against eating Veal. The kill and slaughter process can be brutal and inhumane. Adding to the animals' misery for "better taste" is just wrong. And if you're wondering, I do eat meat.
To James: For what it's worth – and I hold no affinity for Halal restrictions – that method of slaughter is far more humane than what is most commonly practiced. Cutting the neck and allowing the animal to bleed out may be graphic but it is less painful than the beating, abuse, and live carving much of the beef in the USA enjoys during slaughter. Again, it may be messy and it makes for easy sensationalist commentary, but bleeding out an animal is a humane way to kill it. Also, it is healthier to eat animals that have been slaughtered in this manner. I believe Kosher eating requires the same.
Wonder wfat the producer will do with these birds now? I am sure he will continue to feed them until they die of natural causes.
Producers will continue to provide feed and fresh water to animals, clean their barns daily, and harvest the livers, as well as the remaining edible meat, feet, & visera that they always do. Peaople eat duck. people eat, period. I have visited these types of farms, as well as others throughout the United States...Farmers do care about their animals, their products and peoples rights to choose their own diets. God bless the farmers who feed us many different diets and flavors.
Meanwhile Halal label demands the cruel slaughtering of animals (by the neck) until they bleed to death. Just Youtube it and you'll find out. How this can be allowed in a civilized world??
Either you're religous bigot, in which case you're just looking for excuses to hate Muslims, or you're ignorant of the fact that that piece of meat on your plate was once alive, and had to die in order to get there. No method of slaughter will ever be 100% humane.
An electric shock fed directly to the brain kills the cow or pig or sheep in less than 5 seconds. Animal knows nothing and feels pain for a fraction of a second. I believe this is EU standard on humanely killing an animal at the slaughter house. Did you even youtube the halal way of killing an animal by "torture"?
Youtube is about as reliable an information source as Wikipedia.
If the way these animals die bothers you so much, why not just become a vegetarian?
What makes you think the world is civilized at all? Its not. Do not forget you are nothing more than animal yourself. One with a superiority complex.
Well, it's kind of hard not to feel superior when humans do rule over animals. The reality is, we have a lot of people on this planet who need to eat. If you got a problem with how the animals are raised or killed that are our food sources, then create laws that limit how many children you can have. Stop allowing so many people to procreate and therefore add to the burden of feeding them. We have kids that go hungry every single minute in this world as well as adults too. How bout spending your time worrying about people that dont get to eat, period- then animals that are destined for consumption
I've never had this stuff. Is it really all it's hyped up to be? Seems kind of disgusting to be honest.
You have to like liverwurst to like foie gras. It tastes like liverwurst with a hint of horseradish. Personally, I like it, but it's pricey. If you want to try it, whip some liverwurst with a little horseradish and seasonings. Practically the same thing.
How ignorant can you be....comparing foie gras and liverwurst.Insulting to a Frenchman but we have seen worse.
It's not even close to liverwurst. It's like spiced butter but more flavor and depth. It's cruel, expensive; but tasty on toasted bread.
I'm not at all convinced it's cruel. It LOOKS cruel to us, because humans have a gag reflex strong enough that even the sight of a similar operation on another animal can trigger it. But ducks and geese don't have such a reflex to begin with. You won't see these animals fleeing in terror at the approach of their feeder, even after repeated encounters. In fact, they crowd around, just as they do when fed any other way, jostling for their turn.
the ducks or geese don't know that they will be kill,of course the humans feed them ,so they are in confidence .All the lifes are important ,and the pain is the same for all the animals ,or humans ,in fact us humans are animals ,we forget it too often ,we think we have the right to kill and eat the animals ,but a life is a life I am French and i know how foie gras is make ,and believe me the ducks and geese live something terrible ,can you imagine this for an human ,forcing you to eat until your liver becomes necrotic?people say "they are just animals ",they are living creatures ,with nerves ,and who feel the fear and pain like us
"can you imagine this for an human ,forcing you to eat until your liver becomes necrotic?"
No, because that won't happen with humans. Again, humans aren't geese or ducks. Their biology is radically different. For geese, accumulating fat in the liver is absolutely normal, not "necrotic"; it's an adaptation to long-distance migration that lets them store enough fuel to fly for days, even weeks, without stopping for food.
"believe me the ducks and geese live something terrible "
I don't believe you, having seen it for myself.
Would you eat a gorilla or a dolphin?
It's really, really good.
It's tricky to prepare properly, though; unless you know what you're doing, you probably shouldn't attempt it yourself. It's one of the few food items you're much better off having professionally prepared – unless you can afford to apprentice with someone to teach you on their dime.
Definitely worth a try if you have a chance.
It's nothing like liverwurst. That poster has obviously never had it.
I second that. It is really delicious however I have had my share of botched foie before. I hate when chefs do some fancy molecular gastronomy thing with foie. Just a simple pan sear, with stewed fruit of some sort would do.
My favorite preparation of all time was at LaCroix in Philadelphia about 5 years ago. Seared foie gras, cherry mostrada, bacon-shortbread croutons served with monbazillac.
Another awesome animal product: veal sweetbreads. Preferably seared with a nice crispy crust.
Yeah, foie gras plays extremely well with sweet accompaniments. I've had it prepared with a maple syrup glaze that was fantastic.
Agree with the professional prep. Foie gras is ~$50 per pound. If you figure in the time and cost to procure foie gras, and the necessary accoutrements, and the effort to prepare it....best to let someone else do it.
its pretty tasty. Its got a buttery taste to it when placed on bread, but not a sickening oil feel as if you had stuck a chunk of butter in your mouth.
its kind of like a tasty buttery spread on some bread.
pricey tho and not really worth it imo..rather get lobster dipped in butter, which incidentally is at its cheapest nowadays.
Lobsters are boiled alive until they're dead. They may be banned next.
