I think Mayor Bloomberg's ban on large size soft drinks is reasonable. Even though it may seem like an intrusion by government in our personal lives, the cost of obesity is something that affects all of us and is contributing to the rising cost of health care in this country. If we cannot control our own diets to help ourselves remain healthy then I think we should not be eligible for tax-payer funded healthcare. We should make up our minds about what is reasonable and what is fair with consideration to the implications for our country and the world, not just ourselves.
Army Units Continue Operations Against Terrorists, Inflict Heavy Losses Upon Them
Units of the Armed Forces continued operations against terrorists in Joubar neighborhood in Damascus countryside, inflicting heavy losses upon them.
An official source told SANA that an Army unit clashed with an armed terrorist group near the phone center in the area, killing most of its members.
Khaled al-Hawash were identified among the dead terrorists.
Here's one way - Scotch & Soda.
I think the ban is reasonable, because it's absolutely absurd the size of the drinks these fast food places serve. Nobody really needs a drink that big. It's totally crazy. Don't you remember first going to the movie theatres, and seeing the size of the large soda?
It's really just preventing these places from exploiting you. Giving kids and others these enormous sized drinks that they don't even want, that they just end up taking and getting addicted to.
I highly doubt there's very many people who really want those huge sodas so bad. You can still get them if you really want to. This just prevents these restaurants from shoving them down peoples throats who don't want them.
I can't believe the size of the drinks they hand me sometimes. I just want the extra fries. I don't need a 2L soda to wash down my lunch. If this ban in anyway cuts down on weight gain, and heart attacks, etc, then it's a good idea. It's not like people are going to be "cut off". It's just consumer protectionism
Fine...Go live in Nanny State NYC and see how you like power tripping Mayor Bloomingidiot dictating every aspect of your life. What you eat, what you drink, what it's served in on or in what sizes...and see how long it takes you to realize that you have limited choices as opposed to a 2 hour trip to Philly where if one wants a 44 OZ Big Gulp or a 40 oz drink with their Philly Cheesesteak, one can indulge themselves.
Sadly, liberal progressive morns have decided that only they know what's best for people and if they are in power, they don't have to listen to the objections from the masses. "Oh, you want 44 Oz Pepsi? Sorry, we know what's best for the kiddies, so, you only get 20 OZ drinks. Keep whining and we'll make it 8 OZ!"
So, enjoy your Nany State!
" If this ban in anyway cuts down on weight gain, and heart attacks, etc, then it's a good idea"
We should just follow North Korea's example and prevent people from consuming any food! Then no one will gain weight!
You just want the extra fries, but the large soda is what's gonna give you the heart attack? riiiiiiiight.
Typical rubbish dietary advice, do they really think diet soda is any healthier?

Like we didn't see this coming! A ban just makes people want something more.
