Two California residents are suing Anheuser-Busch, alleging that the company waters down Budweiser and other beers "significantly" to boost profits, their attorneys announced Tuesday. The class-action lawsuit alleges that the maker of the "King of Beers" has the technology to precisely control the amount of alcohol in its beers but adds water so that the alcohol is well below the advertised figure of 5% by volume, the suit said. The beer maker rejected the lawsuit's allegations. Read the full story: Anheuser-Busch accused of watering down several brands |

See, lawyers do good things every once in a while!
POINT ZERO ZERO and ZERO-TOLERANCE for alcohol while driving is the new way in California. Thank you citizens of Santa Ana District 34.
Man!!!! Somebody better get to the bottom of this!!!! There better not be lying over the alcohol contents in a beer!!!
well, guess it wouldn't post. gee i wonder why. add busch lite to the list. it is watered down for sure.
I have noticed it in busch lite, as well. it doesn't make sense to me. but it really doesn't have the same alcohol content that it used too.
Now Coors will have some competition at the bottom. I have no time or patience for crappy beer. Micro-brew is where the flavor is. My favorite is one from Oregon called "Arrogant Bastard".
I had that a few years ago. I thought it was pretty good. A little on the pricey side, though.
Buddy that's great. but not everybody can afford craft beers.
Arrogant Bastard is brewed in Escondido, CA by Stone Brewing not in Oregon. My husband and I are very good friends with Mitch Steele who is the Master Brewer for Stone. Just saying.
Dishonest CEO.Areal let down you are a true scumbag that should be jailed!
Didn't a foreign company buy Budweiser several years ago, for several hundred million dollars? Now, you know how they're going to get their hundreds of millions back, by watering down their beer.
Yes. And once that happened, their products went from bad to terrible fairly quickly.
Yes, they were acquired by InBev in 2008. A Belgian-Brazillian company making it the largest brewer in the world. They may be big, but their products are horrible and their standards fell significantly! They have no interest in making a quality product. All they care about is the bottom line and profits. I was not at all surprised to read this, I actually expected it. Sad!
In my opinion, Anheuser-Busch consistently makes some of the most god-awful pathetic urine that has ever been labeled as "beer"! I couldn't care less if they water down their worthless product! I haven't spent a single penny on any Anheuser-Busch products in two decades! Forget about Anheuser-Busch and go to a micro brewery buy some REAL beer!
Amen!
Seriously. How many of us clicked on this article just to say "wait...Anheuser-Busch doesn't actually make Beer anyway. All their doing is watering down water!!
This is why it's so cheap. It's mostly water. It's good for a nice cold one after a hot day working all afternoon in the yard, but for satisfying beer drinking, the dark microbrews is where people need to be. If you just want to get drunk, this cheap beer should work. You'll have to drink a lot of it, though, which means you should have a nice shot at pi$$!ng yourself by the end of the night.
This stuff is for broke college kids.
Years ago a little bird told me that a beverage company was considering beer as potential offering and their chemists reverse engineered Bud. The verdict was that the venerable red can of Bud was barely passable in terms of meeting the required fermentation time to be considered beer, and it contained added food coloring and alcohol.
