While you're frying up some eggs and bacon, we're cooking up something else: a way to celebrate today's food holiday. December 20 is sure to pack a punch - it's National Sangria Day! Sangria is an iced punch traditionally made with red wine, sliced fruit, fruit juices and sparkling water. Though most people are familiar with the red wine version, sangria enthusiasts can lighten things up with white or rosé wine. For an added one-two, spike the pitcher with a good quality brandy. |

Who here puts apples in sangria? I've only ever seen/drank it with cinnamon & citrus. YUM!
I ususally do apples, pears and orange slices. If raspberries look good, I'll add those in as well.
