You crack me up on the blood thread.
"Anti-tax activist Grover Norquist said Monday that his group, Americans for Tax Reform, would work to unseat Republicans who break their pledge to never vote for higher taxes." That is all.
Can't we all just get along?
Sausage and law making, two things you never want to see made.
Looks like everyon had a fun holiday. Thats good to hear. Great that RicH got some time off. I bet things are going to get pretty rambunctious on the blood thread.
Perhaps Jeann or some militant vegan needs to stir the pot some...hehe
I just found out our company raised around $15k from employee contributions and employer match for Hurricane Sandy relief!! The check is in the mail...no really it is! :)
At least no Tramp Stamp
Nor a coin slot...
Or a whale tail
Or a bullseye
Gnarly!
SIGH. I hate when work gets in the way of tomfoolery (nods to Turth). ~_~
Oh... then Friday I went to NYC and ate at Dans le Noir? on 38th street. I must say that dining in the dark was an awesome experience. My sense of smell definitely was stronger in the dark, and the food was pretty good. I took to using my fingers to guide food onto my fork or just eating with my hands (depending on the item... risotto doesn't do so well just with your fingers...).
I have heard of that place, and I think it is a VERY interesting concept, but probably not for me. First off, I HATE surprises especially with food, and I wouldn't want to wind up eating liver wrapped in tripe or something like that. I'm not that adventurous.
Wasn't this featured on Eatocracy in the past?
It might have been. Sounds vaguely familiar. Imagine that...talking about a restaurant on a food blog, as opposed to sports, politics and everyday tomfoolery...

Hello, Dave.
Wow... busy day today!
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving (if you're from the US... a plain old good week last week if you're not)..
My Thanksgiving featured bringing dinner to my friend who had the heart transplant last month (she's hopefully getting out of rehab by the end of the week). There is 11 eating age people in the mixed family (the baby is 5 months old), and there were 6 more people. The rehab center let us use a side dining/event room.
The stars of the meal (besides than the fact we were *able* to have the meal together), were a roast turkey, a grilled ham, and a goose that the family had raised, slaughtered and processed, which was glazed with maple syrup and herbs, and smoked with apple wood.
I still drool thinking about how the goose tasted.
Beyond that we had a lot of the traditional North East trimmings- green bean casserole, sweet potatoes with marshmallow topping (actually good enough that I ate some), stuffing, scalloped white potatoes, corn pudding. We had some cheeses I had picked up from my local cheese monger/god/guru and Old Bay steamed shrimp with homemade cocktail sauce as "appetizers".
Then for dessert there was this brownie/caramel/chocolate chip cookie stacked then baked cookie bar of awesomeness, rice crispy treats with peppermint marshmallows (by request of one of the kids), and several types of pie.
We invited the nurses to come and take plates and a few took us up on it (one brought some of the goose home to her son). We also brought pie to the security guards, and a chaplain that was passing by sat down and ate with us.
It was an awesome day.
Thanksgiving is also when that family does the picture for the holiday cards. This year everyone wore all black (which is usual, actually), but this year my friend had a heart pin she was given during her recovery from the transplant, and the rest of the family had cut out paper hearts that each person colored and pinned to their shirts, then stood around my friend in the wheelchair for the picture.
That sounds so wonderful, and what a good friend to bring Thanksgiving to her! (((((((HUGS)))))))) for you.
I realized over the weekend while we were at the casino, that the world's worst job ever has to be a restroom attendant/cleaner person in a casino...people just get stoopid drunk.
Funny that you should mention that...My building is right across from a bar, and someone apparently slept off a bender in my garage and wound up throwing up in a corner. My dayporter cleaned it this morning and had the quip of the year: "This job is as thankless as being Taylor Swift's boyfriend"...:)
Now aren't you glad you took my advice and placed the trash can by your stool at the slot machines? Unless you fall off the stool, you never have to get up. :))
RH – No need for said bucket for me...I behave myself. :)
Truth – That was a good one (the quip that is). I've raised three children and a cat, and have had my lifetime share of cleaning up the yucky stuff.
OK, we are on a food blog, time to clean it up (pun intended) and move along now, nothing to see here...
Good Cyber Monday my dear friends! Who let the Ninja's in??
Any amazing shopping deals on line today? Not that I intend to buy any, but curious just the same. I've been hinting to hubs that I want one of those "mint cleaners", a robot thingy that sweeps and mops tile floors...daughters on board to get me the Fifty Shades of Chicken! (happy dance)
Maybe you can try this instead...
Sadly, I can't access whatever it is you posted... What is see in large block red letters... "YOUR INTERNET USE IS BEING MONITORED AND LOGGED", "ACCESS TO THIS SITE IS BLOCKED", along with some other choice words...and yes in all caps.
It is nothing bad, just a goof off video commercial for the "Baby Mop", which is basically a onesie with mop strands attached, so the irresponsible mother can have her young'un clean the floors while it crawls around unattended. Mary Shannon pointed it out last week, and I sincerely have to wonder who dreams up this sort of thing...
Ah yes, slave labor of children is always popular... Now if I could train Odie to walk around with a duster tied to his tail for the base boards, I would have something useful. I haven't trained hubs to like dusting and mopping...
Sorry, I couldn't get it to work again. Not trying a second time, don't want to annoy Kat.
It was supposed to be Jimmy Buffett's version of "Smart Woman (in a real short skirt)"
In honor of all of us smart women on this site:
This is a popular theme of many of the Klatchers lately. One person like it so much last week, it was posted many times in one day. Like poetry, it is open to so many meanings. Seems like a shallow subject though.
Oh noes! It won't play.
It says I do not exist
Good morning, folks! I hope you all had a good weekend. Nothing better than a really long weekend! Now, back to reality, and another work day. I hate Monday's! So Truth, did you get your bird? Inquiring minds want to know!
Three pheasant, one quail. Blackened and grilled them, and all were delish. The leftovers are today's lunch...:)
How was your holiday?
Hey Truth! Congrats on your hunting! We have lots of pheasants and turkeys running around here, too. Do you have to go far to hunt? I had a very nice Thanksgiving. Thanks for asking!
Good morning, gf! Hope you had a good weekend. Today is Monday? It's just like any other day to me... Sorry to say lol. Have a great day!
Morning crew! How many pounds did everyone gain this past weekend?
Not sure. Our planes took off and landed safely tho'. ;) How was your holiday?
Holiday was nice and we figured out the best way to spend them. Show up at family's house with food and leave when meal is over. Nice to see the in-laws, but nice to send them back to the airport yesterday. Thankfully scotch is always on hand in my house – it was needed. Nice to also have many hands to help with the active Lil Biddles.
Your Green Bay Packers could have used some of those helping hands in last nights game. What Happened?
Yea, yea, yea. They sucked a big one last night. At least Lil Biddle yells GO Packers to mamma's disappointment as she is the Giants fan in the house.
Not a pound here, maybe lost one though....boofay turkey is NOT meant to be eaten in large amounts...
I would say most things from a casino booofett would be something I wouldn't want seconds of.
Good morning! Hoping that the weather man is lying (again) and that the snow in the forecast is meant for those either north or west of me, snow in November is just so wrong....
"Snow?" I know not of which you speak.
testing, testing 1, 2, 3

you you you you yoooooou
hi hi hi
You going to sing us a song?
Our sonicwall was rearing its ugly head unexpectedly. However, since you mentioned it, here's my favorite Christmas spirit generator of all time. Enjoy!

Guaranteed non-rickrolling.
I was doing a posting check.
Hi 2u2!
Somehow I was more picturing the "New York, New York" scene from "Shame"...
Good morning everyone! What a Sunday to be a Giants fan, huh? Oh sorry, RH, my condolences. Tell Aaron not to eat so many nachos before the next game!!
Good morning all!
From the picture above it looks like it is Euro-Goth day here in the Klatch. And I went and forgot the body piercings...
Welcome back to Ms. AleeD! How you been Darlin?
The weekend also saw a safe return to Bro RichHead and just in time for the GB packers to choke under pressure...Rumor has it that the team is consoling themselves with a cyber Monday shopping spree for each other at Victoria's Secret. Further rumor is that Aaron Rodger's color is pink...
Thankee kahnd suh! Been busier than a one woman dominatrix in Ybor City. How was your Turkey day? Or did you bag a pleasant pheasant this year? ;)
He was sited at Jerry Worlds Victoria Secret this morning with Tony Romo by his side.:)) Talked to Tazer last night..She lost Stewie the he/she cat a couple months ago and just hasn't felt funny to post anything. I don't blame her, tho. She's getting a promotion at the bank and should be doing better after Christmas.I miss her. Anyway, smoked Turkey turned out great so I've got many sandwiches to eat. Due in Laredo in the morning for a delivery and then some Great Mexican food.
Sounds like you had a good hunt and an excellent Turkey Day dinner. Well Done Bro.
That is rough for Tazer...Been a tough year for the Kritters of the Klatch.
Had a good hunt and it was nice weather. I brought the leftovers in for lunch today and the assistant may get brave enough to try.
Stay safe out there...!
Good Monday morning Kidz...Lordy the lounge is a mess. Turkey leg bones thrown here...broken wishbone there,I'l start the coffee and do a little cleanup.
Hey Bro! Saw your message yestiddy. Wassabi 2u2! ;) All's well with the fam. Only saw some hills in Charlotte. After 2 days of them carting us around, I had to ask, "Are there any straight roads in Charlotte?" ;) Kicked some family a$$ and let the petty stuff slide. Nice of you to keep the economy humming, big guy. *wink wink*
Question for you & all the beer-can-chicken grillers: if you make beer-can-turkey, do you have to use Fosters or will a mini Heineken keg work? Inquiring minds wanna know.
Interesting question.....Unless the beer keg has an opening in the top,I would be a little leery of using it,unless you want to have the first chicken on the moon...if you catch my drift. Besides, you'd probably lose your keg deposit. :((
Be worth it to find out – Mythbusters' style. ;)
Good am all! Monday sure did come quick...sigh. Did ya get all your leftover turkey eaten up? My friend told me her bird was quite large & they've been eating turkey all w/e...I asked her if they're growing feathers, yet. She didn't say yes or no, she gobbled! Have a good "cyber Mon"! (happy shopping)
Hey there! I've been eating leftovers since Thanksgiving. I think all we have left is some turkey which I hope to finish at supper tonite! I love cold turkey sandwiches. I think I'm feeling some fuzz on my face... Maybe it's just old age?!?! Lol. Have a great day!
Old age? I think not, you're growing feathers! BOL!
Captain Nelson died. [:'-(
I thought he was Major Nelson...?
Maybe he's been posthumously promoted...:)
And for the record, I was a wee little young'un when I first saw that show, and although I had no remote clue why I felt that way, it made me very glad to be born male...
Apologies. My way-back machine got stuck on the first season when he was a Captain.
Damn. Coffee hasn't kicked in.
Would you like to join us while we christen the table – again? ~_~
Lol!
That lady is sitting on the table. I'm telling.
