If you crave fries in San Francisco, Jasper's Corner Tap is a natural choice. But your decisions aren't over yet. Will it be thin, thick, or sweet potato? Do you try the smoked-paprika seasoning or a cheese curd-based poutine, or play it safe with sea salt? There's an entire menu devoted to customizable fries at your fingertips. French fries are one of the true crowd-pleasers - a food that friends agree upon, that turns up at both five-star steakhouses and roadside dives, and that is familiar but can also surprise you. They can be cut thick or curly, cooked with or without skins, served Belgian-style in paper cones or in a parchment-lined basket with malt vinegar on the side. No matter how you slice it, the deep-fried spud is king. Read - Best French fries in the U.S. What hometown food do you crave like crazy? Share your favorite local eateries at iReport |

They could have been sliding McDonald's fries in the back door and sprinkling them with basil and placing a hefty price tag on them. Glad I checked this place out, but I wouldn't place them on the best fries list. Beer list was enjoyable though.
The very best fries are steak fries. I'm not sure how they make them, but I love them crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Served with salt, and NO ketchup.
I eat them very seldom these days, but when I do, that's what I desire. (No, McDonald's fries were never any good, sorry.)
I love mayo on my fries.
I *SO* have to remember this place when I get back to the Bay Area.
NINERS!!!!
The absolutely best non-chain restaurant fries are at The Blazer Pub in Purdys, NY. They are thick cut steak fries. A small order is enough for 2 people and a large will feed a table of 6 or more.
I concur! Been there, tried them, will be back...
Another runner up from my neck of the woods, The Wishbone in north Denver, where they batter dip the fries before cooking. Unbelievable!
Wendy's chili and cheese fries. Nuf said.
I love fries. FRIES FRIES FRIES.
Mine have to be well Frenched and HOT.
Bad fries with bad chili with bad cheese. Pass.
One of my favorite places just north of Denver. They actually batter dip the fries before cooking. Freakin Nirvana!
