Operation Last Call uncovers $750,000 of stolen airplane booze

It was a security breach at one of the country's busiest airports conducted on a tiny scale.

Eighteen workers at New York's JFK Airport were arrested on Wednesday and accused of stealing more than 100,000 mini-bottles of alcohol from LSG Sky Chefs, which provides food and beverages for American Airlines.

McDonald's to include calorie counts on menu boards, but will that deter diners?

McDonald’s president Jan Fields announced today that starting next week, menu boards in the chain's restaurants and drive-thrus will contain calorie counts for all menu items in accordance with the company's ongoing Commitments to Offer Improved Nutrition Choices program.

The announcement came as part of the presentation of McDonald's 2012 Nutrition Journey Progress Report, which highlight's the company's stated goals, including an active interest in children’s well-being, more and better nutritionally-balanced menu choices and increased customer and employee access to nutrition information and education.

National chocolate milkshake day

While vanilla has often beat out chocolate as the most popular milkshake flavor, today - National Chocolate Milkshake Day - is for the cocoa lovers.

As we learned in June on National Vanilla Milkshake Day, the milkshake, as we know it today, was invented by a Walgreen's employee in Chicago in 1922. He added two scoops of ice cream to a drink called a malted milk. Although the concept of milkshakes had been around since about 1885, it wasn't until that fateful day that the drink became popularized.
