Following the Chick-Fil-A controversy, Bread8 Productions digs deep into food and gay culture in Austin to see which foods are gay and which are straight.

Luismiguel4 says he and host Tim Young were inspired to create this tongue-in-cheek video in light of the Chick-fil-A controversy that sparked after the company's CEO expressed his thoughts on same-sex marriage public. 'We kind of thought things were blown out of proportion,' he said. 'People are already assuming that Chick-fil-A is strictly for family values, so we wanted to bring out that stereotype by asking which foods are straight and gay,' he explained.
They spent two days interviewing people in downtown Austin, Texas, asking people not only which foods they thought were straight or gay, but also asking people their thoughts on same-sex marriage. 'A lot of people were quick to react to it because it was a way over-the-top question and so was the topic,' he said. 'A lot of people didn't seem offended. People went along with it and had fun with it. We weren't sure what to expect.'

It still amazes me that national news media likes to present stories which do nothing but work to divide people among political, social, ethnic, racial, gender, and sexual orientation lines. People will be people, they will always have bias towards one another and sometimes criticize or categorize people making generic assumptions which many times are untrue. For society's sake please, as a national news agency do not continue to give validity to these ideas or "stir up trouble" creating and enhancing divisiveness in this country. That is exactly what you are doing and you know it. You can sit there and give me the whole freedom of speech story but just because you have the freedom to say whatever you want does not mean you should. As a national news source you have a inherent responsibility to understand the deep societal impact that you may have with your stories and choose them responsibility. Just because some guy on the street thinks "salads are a gay food" doesn't mean its a national headline. Judging from this story and the Gabby Douglas story you should be ashamed of yourselves though you are probably to A moral to do so.
So, the whole "satire" thing is a frequency that doesn't make it to your tower? It's a well-made video, not unlike something The Daily Show would do, and it pokes fun at some notions and attitudes that quite frankly deserve it. Did you actually watch it or are you just feeling ranty?
