While you're frying up some eggs and bacon, we're cooking up something else: a way to celebrate today's food holiday.

Only a few more days to read the tea leaves - June is National Iced Tea Month.

Iced tea is brewed like hot tea, but cooled naturally or over ice. It can be sweetened or unsweetened. Some teas work better for icing than others, and tea preference is key; especially when experimenting with flavored tea.

One of the most popular versions of a tea drink is the Arnold Palmer. Named after the famous golfer, the combination of lemonade and sweet tea is perfectly balanced. The tartness of lemonade makes the sweetness of the tea even more appealing. There are of course alcoholic versions of the Arnold Palmer, sometimes called a "Drunken Palmer" or a "John Daly." These can be made with a bourbon floater or by using sweet tea-infused vodka.

Next time you venture outdoors for a cookout or pool party, consider a pitcher of iced tea as your beverage of choice. Garnish it with lemon and mint and any heat-induced thirst is sure to be quenched.
