Pssst! Got a sec to chat?
We are utterly thrilled when readers want to hang out and talk – whether it's amongst themselves or in response to pieces we've posted. We want Eatocracy to be a cozy, spirited online home for those who find their way here.
Consider the daily Coffee Klatsch post as your VIP lounge – the primary comments thread for readers who'd like to chat about topics not related to the articles we're running. That way, everyone knows where to find each other, and each post's comments section remains on topic.
If you don't already have one, one of you create a "spam" account. Post that here, then when the other person responds with their real email address, you give them your real address and let the communications begin!
Ah thanks. I haven't created one yet, but I think I could do that....just a pain to get to. We can't access any pers stuff at work, including emails...
How about follow my bog? Truth, and some others are "there" and I can e-mail them at will. How did we get them to be followers? (I have a good memory but it's short.........I forget the details.)
I'm thinking that the blog communique thingy might be a way to get started. I'm going to TO (and through the Valley) the end of this month.
Speaking of vewy qwiet....I hafta sign off for today! Hasta La!
Shrimp, guacamole and pink grapefruit.
Serrano ham, fish terrine, cream mayonnaise with herbs.
Grilled tournedos of beef, polenta with olives and artichokes, sauteed zucchini
Trio of lemon, triple chocolate cake, and strawberry macaroon, sorbet, and choice of fresh fruit.
Where did I eat this??
My house tomorrow nite? ;)
Nice try! I was going through some momentos from the trip...this was the menu on the plane ride from LAX to Paris...ahhh and the wine was superb as well....
Holy Cucino, Batman! That was airplane food? GoodON ya!
So ... have I missed anything by not being around much? I sure miss playing with everyone.
Howdee, welcome back you have been missed and it is vewy qwiet around here! Yes airplane food on foreign carriers is much superior to anything the US airlines can muster up! I laughed when they served us food on an hour flight from Paris to Copenhagen! Real food, not 10 peanuts, or 5 pretzels, but an actual sandwhich with real veggies and fruit, and FREE wine!
You mean they treat you like people not cattle? How refreshing.
Thank you for the welcome back, Sweet Lady. I see it HAS been quiet recently. I wish I could say I've been out because I've been enjoying what the lovely couple in the photo are enjoying, but I'd be laying ... I mean lying. ;) Work, work, work. Makes the time fly, but my social life is suffering. ;)
I've tried to keep track of your trip during "off" hours. It looks like you and Mrs. Fel both had great vacation & honeymoon resp. Have you caught up yet from being away for so long?
Ditto! It's been SO qwiet that I hope this place isn't dying...... Come back! (All of you-all!)
Hi... can I have more coffee?
Where are you Waldo?? I need your secret rub recipe, not one from BBQ Bible, I want the one YOU use. If you won't give it up, I bet I could bribe WD...just sayin.
What are you planning to rub it on .... oh, I see. Fuhgeddaboudit.
Um, that would be a 5-7 pounder of brisket! RH skooled me on smoking it last summer, but I need the secret rub recipe!! Something to do with Saigon Cinammon....WD will talk for Milk Bones I'm sure of it.
That kind of smoke must take some biiiig papers.
Happy Monday morning class! We made 3 trips to Lowes this weekend in search of new outdoor drapes to replace those burned in the 2008 fire...I couldn't replace them with the ones I wanted these past years, so had to settle on some stripes...not my fave, but I let hubs have this one. I will wait for these to get dirty/ruined, then replace with my choice... =} I'm evil, I know.
My vote: I LIKE the orange (yours) but the lighter striped ones may reflect the heat out better. I forget where you live.....i.e.: if reflectivity is important. My 2 cents, anyway!
Yay, one vote for me! :) We had this color before and it really did look nice. The stripes are too circus like for my taste, but hubs was pretty insistent so I let him "win" this one... We live in the San Fernando Valley, so it can get warm, but we have a 40 ft. patio cover that keeps the house pretty cool most of the time. I'll load some pictures tomorrow. Thanks.
Murrieta, Temecula for us. Have friends in Granada Hills, Reseda, and Van Nuys!
add Burbank, too.
Granada Hills, Reseda, Van Nuys and Burbank...all within about 15 mins of my house!
can't resist: Sherman Oaks? Encino? Northridge? Tarzana? Studio City?
Never mind! I know we should not divulge such here......I am just terminally curious!
Sherman Oaks, Encino, and Studio City are east of where I work, south from home...don't get over to those areas very often, but drive through Northridge daily on my commute...
Nice! I pass though all that (good old 101) on my way to family in Thousand Oaks. Over and out!
If you are ever out this way around lunch time, let me know and maybe we can meet up??
I do not think I have your contact info. Do you have mine? How do we do this?
Oooo, love terra cotta anything. The only question I have about hubby's choice is who recycled the pajamas to make those drapes?
Amen sista! The mfg even called it "circus stripes"!! Oh for the love of good taste, why did I give in!??
Don't worry. His selection isn't made from Sunbrella material and yours was. His will phizzle fo'shizzle in the elements in no time. When they're gone, you can put up the ones you originally selected – just like your evil twin projected.
Yep that is the plan...I figure I would wait until HD puts them on sale, then buy them up in advance. They will fit on the existing hardware and I have all the reddish accessories to match already. My evil plan is in play, just waiting for the opportune moment/disaster/deterioration to happen. :D
Howdy, howdy! 6:40 Am out here and yes, MONEY is the root of everything. Education, food, shelter. etc. (Why the he(( is there never enough?)
Good morning everyone! Hope everyone is doing better than I am right now. Caught a sore throat or a head cold or some such thing and it has plagued me all weekend. Luckily I'm starting to recover in earnest today so hopefully I will have this thing beat pretty soon.
In other news, this past weekend I went over to this technical school for a sort of open house event they have every month for future or prospective students. After trucking around their campus for a bit, I feel like this might really be the place for me. Now I just need to win the lotto so I can pay for it all...
Happy Monday, all. Can't believe I'm first in again, and its 8:45 am ET, wow. I hope everyone had a great weekend.
