Pssst! Got a sec to chat? We are utterly thrilled when readers want to hang out and talk – whether it's amongst themselves or in response to pieces we've posted. We want Eatocracy to be a cozy, spirited online home for those who find their way here. Consider the daily Coffee Klatsch post as your VIP lounge – the primary comments thread for readers who'd like to chat about topics not related to the articles we're running. That way, everyone knows where to find each other, and each post's comments section remains on topic. |

Bravo!!! Thank you for sharing your story!
It was scary to do, but now I'm really happy that I did. Thank you all so much for your support!
Good afternoon, Hope everyone had a Great Weekend. UK (Go Big Blue ) will win it all tonight. May I also say that Kat has a Beautiful Proboscis.
How goes things my friend? Big Blue still holding up? Gvie WD some love from me :)
I thought you got lost in the Big City. Did some maintenance on Blue today so she is purring and ready to run tonight. WD is getting belly rubs as we speak. Everything going well for you?
Christmas is long gone, but this still cracks me up!
Happy April, everyone! We had a chilly, rainy weekend here but the rest of this week is forecast to be sunny. Doesn't that figure? Oh well, the flowers will grow.
Hey Mary! Would you see what you can do to send some of that rain down to WCF? We are experiencing high levels of crunchy grass.
BTW, I finally got to see your premier episode this weekend. Looks like it's going to be an interesting season with Norah.
Wait until you see the second episode when Norah comes to work!!
I'm looking forward to it.
April showers bring May flowers! :)
And May flowers bring alergies!
And Mayflowers bring pilgrims, pilgrim.
That's funny right there!
Pilgrams bring typhoid.
That's what got me on the Oregon Trail...just sayin'.
Morning all! Need me some hot chocolate or something...
I'mmmmmm baaaaaaacccccckkkkkk!!!!!!!!
What up Wittious Maximus? Been out a bit myself. You training for the Tough Mudder yet?
Welcome back gents...Place is not the same when one of the regs are MIA.
Thanks. I'm here all week, so lets get the party started!
Did someone say "party?"
@Sir Biddle the also Absent – I've been in the gym just trying to get back into the swing of things. Lifting two times a week and a day of cardio as well. I'm trying to find time to up that to four days a week but just can't seem to do it. I am actually trying to figure out where and how to do some alternative training. The goal would be to build some of the obstacles and practice on those.
@Truth – I've missed you guys. I've been on the road for a few weeks and haven't had much time to check in. How's your dad doing? What's new in the Klatsch?
AleeD is starting a train. I think this Monday is only going to get better!
If you look hard in the video, I think you can spot Jdizz.
I'm doing the Warrior Dash next month yet am having huge second thoughts on the Tough Mudder. May also do the Zombie Dash in October, but the half marathon style ones are a bit to challenging for me with everything going on. TM is definitely an event that requires an organized pre-training regimen.
I'm just going to try and hope I don't fail. I need to do a couple of warmup events. When is the warrior dash?
May 19/20

Looks like fun. I'll check with the old lady and see if she's on board. She also has to approve the beard growing :)
I'm in the 1:30 Saturday time slot. You don't have to do a beard, but looks like funny outfits are encouraged.
To whom do you go for horn approvals?
That would be AleeD. She is the horn expert around these parts.
Are you going to wear Jerv's wool jock strap?
I'll sign up once I talk to the GF and see if she is available. I think we have a wedding to go to in May and need to firgure out when that is. Looks like fun though!
Was leaning towards my Chinchilla lined banana hammock . Mid-May, it'll be warm.
Qui? Moi?
Oui. Je parle français comme une vache espagnole.
Vaches espagnoles parlent français? Saint bovine, Batman!
Excusez-moi, un moment pendant que je me gratte.
Je travaille toujours sur la sangle de la laine commentaire jock
Speaking of Jerv...where is that little rapscallion?
We all miss him – with out without his wool j-strap. He does occasionally show up in the daily photo. ;) His last post as Jerv was a few months ago. Like others, he got fed up with the modbotz. However I've seen posts on other threads that I know are him under a different screen name. You just can't mistake his positive & light-hearted take on life. RichardHead has tried to email him, but Jerv hasn't responded.
Looks like Jerv's last post was on 1/24/12. [:'-(
We need a "Bring Back Jerv" campaign.
BBJ campaign? I second that emotion!
Oh ...wait ... we may want to call it something else.
HA!!! That made me laugh out loud and not just the cheesy acronym way either.
You want bacon with that? I'll have to get on someone's horn to find out how much we can spare.
Bacon, yes please! Plenty of horn to spare here.
Speaking of Pork, I had pork belly for the first time last night. It was reallllllly good.
Pork Bellies?
Je vourdrais frapper cela!
I like your creativity but I had to go and use goole.translator with this frog leg nibbling dribble you speak of.
Good Morning Crew!!!!
Good morning all!
How is everyone doing today? Supposed to get some rain today in Denver, possibly turning to snow. This after record breaking 80s over the weekend. Go figure.
Good story by Kat today on the main page. Thank you for opening up my dear. Takes courage. I think the bottom line of the whole deal is that we are basically conditioned by our society to be uneasy about our looks. It keeps entire industries going. True confidence comes from within though, and is all the more rare for that reason.
Thanks for the heads up on the article, Truth.
Kat, thank you for opening up and sharing your journey. It's not easy to have that kind of history and not only come out smelling like a rose, but being as beautiful as one, too, both inside & out. Kudos, Milady.
Thank you, all! It was scary to write, and not all the commenters were kind, but I'm really, really glad I did.
In the wise words of Doctor Suess (hopefully he's in your HMO)..."Be yourself, becuase those who mind, don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."
Great article, I can identify with a lot of it from my own childhood experiences.
AWESOME ARTICLE!
No, several were not kind. More's the pity. They're the kinds of people who will never know the true meaning of friendship or love.
Are you glad you wrote it because it was cathartic?
Can't find article mentioned. Anyone have a link?
Read on...

I would have left Streisand off the picture before breakfast though. Liberal stooges make me lose my appet!tite. I would have also mentioned Laura Dern, or Meryl Streep.
Here ya go. Catch!

Good morning. Thanks for the bagels AleeD, I'm hungary.
While you're enjoying your bagels, would you to rest your feet on an Ottoman? :)
Yes, please.
Very punny!
Happy Thoughts on a Manic Monday. Coffee, hot chocolate & tea are all perking, simmering or brewing. Bagels & cream cheese are on the table. Please help yourself to all. How was your weekend?
