Pssst! Got a sec to chat? We are utterly thrilled when readers want to hang out and talk – whether it's amongst themselves or in response to pieces we've posted. We want Eatocracy to be a cozy, spirited online home for those who find their way here. Consider the daily Coffee Klatsch post as your VIP lounge – the primary comments thread for readers who'd like to chat about topics not related to the articles we're running. That way, everyone knows where to find each other, and each post's comments section remains on topic. |

LOL. Fish on in Lobster thread. Obama makes good bait.
Hey Bro...
Just wondering if you were related to the little girl found in Indiana after the tornado's? She had the same last name.
Really? I did not know that.
But fortunately, no.
Well look at that. Angel Babc*ck. I'll be darned.
She was a cutie and a fighter. So very sad.
Lunch, lunch, lunch. I'm hugry!
MEDITERRANEAN Chicken Lettuce Tacos
Butter Lettuce Leaves Filled with Grilled Chicken, Feta Cheese, Red Onion, Kalamata Olives and Tzatziki.
You're doing it again, you know! Butter lettuce, my favorite in anything!
I know! :D I love these! Put a little red wine vinegar on top and you are good to go!
Min ga la ba, chums. I hope everyone is reasonably well after the weekend.
Myanmar or better known as Burma.
Nei kaung la?
there is an AMAZING restaurant somewhat near my house called Taste of Burma, highly highly recommend to anyone in the DMV area. Service can be a little slow but that's because everything is made fresh in house and that takes time :-)
Sterling, VA? I have never been there and not likely to ever go but there is one in San Francisco. May get there one day.
that would be the one! Hopefully TWO or SirB will see this and venture that way...
I sure will!
Now for a proper Good Morning class! Welcome back Kat.
Repeating this for the Monday crowd. This is not just for the month of March either, so if you already use Amazon, please save to favorites and use this link. Thanks!
MARCH IS NATIONAL MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS AWARENESS MONTH! As some of you may know, I was just diagnosed with MS this past September. MS is a debilitating chronic disease for which there is no cure.

And in a related story, America's premiere Troubador releases his 17th studio album tomorrow, marking a continuation of a 35+ year career. Why not order (or download) and help out a great cause at the same time?
I can't seem to get that url to work – and I tried both lines you posted on this thread.
Is there something in that line I could be changing after I copy & paste it?
Hmm, let me see. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/msworld08
I think this one might work, thanks for letting me know!
Howdy ho.
Is it me or are we posting on a thread that originated Saturday and we are still using it on Monday? What am I missing?
Sign me, "Mildly baffled," (a chronic condition I suffer from...)
It's actually a Time Warp from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. :)
It's just a jump to the left...
It's still Saturday's thread all right. It's ok, tho. It's not like Dr. Who is going to come and confiscate our sonic screwdrivers for looping back thru a previous day. ;) How was your weekend?
thanks for asking, sweet thang! Fine as Frog Hairs, here................
Yup. It was actually meant for Monday and accidentally went up on Saturday. I figured we'd let it ride.
Like!Like!Like!Like!

Great Band :-)
Am now officially dialed in. Thanks! : )
And here I thought we had a bonus special surprise on Saturday! I liked it, but I usually post stuff on the weekends that I wouldn't with a larger audience...
Howdy, folks. I went out Saturday night to a drag show with some friends from high school (another friend of ours plays Celine Dion). Anyhoo, all proceeds from the show were going to the Red Cross to support the sourthern Indiana tornado victims. I admit, I got a little teary eyed when the cast sang Back Home Again in Indiana at the end of the show.
Hope that you had Fun :-) Very sad for the reason behind it :,-( Hi , everyone – I'm going to bed ...
Nitey Night and stay warm.
Good Morning All...Hope your weekend was Great. ModBotz got me again on the Mexican food thread-–GRRRRR! Guess Dave is still under the hood. Truth learned a Valuable lesson this weekend-If you throw 2 bowling balls at the same time in the first frame, you will get a better score. :)) Congrats to JJ on the upcoming Wedding.
My guess is that it was the XXX.
Back from time off. Y'all didn't even know I was gone, did you?
I figured that too. Thank You and how was the vacation?
It was necessary and delightful! Went to Charleston to a food festival and jammed a metric ton of pimento cheese and oysters into my face and drank things out of various friends' pockets. Actually slept - which is really, REALLY rare.
Yup, we knew you were gone – SLT looped us in. Welcome back! Sarah did a great job keeping up with the knuckle-draggers while you were away.
Sounds like you did exactly what you're supposed to do on vacation: differ from your work-a-day routine. If that includes sleep, more power to you!
Good morning! cloudy day here in the DMV but hopefully sunny skies will return shortly :-) The boy is going to get our license today which is causing reality to REALLY kick in!
In the mean time I have some yummy pretzel bites for the group, recipe for which will be on the blog come noon EST
Good morning all.
How's everyone doing today? Did anyone do anything special over the weekend?
Good Morning Happy Klatschers! Coffee's on and chocolate chip scones are on the table for munchin'.
A weekend post for us? Sweeeet! I have a couple of purchases to make on Amazon. I'll bkmrk your link and click to help as often as they'll let me! ;)
Today's going to be a shorty for me. I'm out at 2pm. Hugs & Happy Monday to all!
Good morning fine peoples! Marinated pork loin was devine yesterday if I do say so myself...today will be the turkey stuffed peppers. What's everyone up to besides no good?? ;)
I'm hunting Wabbits....
And Odie is hunting gophers...
Ohhhhh,My Favorwit.....Whack-a-Mole Stew.
cool, just checking to see how everyone was always managing those videos posts. lol
Take off every "zig" for great justice.
Alrighty everyone, this weekend warrior is calling it a day. Have a wonderfully beautiful weekend and do enjoy it everyone. *Hugs and kisses for the females* and *fists bumps* for the men and the ladies who'd like some. ;)
As it turns out today I brought my bottle of cologne to work and I have no idea as to why I stuffed it in my pocket but I'm glad I did. Everyone today as been stopping by my office dropping off their work so I can help them with it instead of using the office runner and thus preventing me frm paying my wrk due dilligence and as it turns out if you spray half a bottle of cologne no matter how good it smells ppl tend to run away. lol
haha, I hear ya on that one buddy, I had to learn that harsh lesson a while back. Samson (Boxer) was a pup at the time and boxers are very energetic and playful animals and well one day he saw me moving boxes and throwing things out and he thought he'd help, so he grabbed a box which contained a few things and threw it down on the floor and ran it over. Needless to say I cried that night because my mothers china, my camera and child hood had just been shattered literally. T_T
Indeed you have, after all it's always the simple things in life that are the best. XD
Note to self: Never leave a silver flash drive unattended on the kitchen table in the same house as a sometimes hyperactive cat.
Did he download your pictures, finish a report, something useful?? LOL Odie once 'stole' my moms diamond earring when she was visiting and put in in an old shoe of hubs, didn't find it for months!
Also, visiting a friend in London and left the camera on the table, next morning camera was in the hallway and photos of the culprit cat and various angles of the living room and hall were on the camera!
Lol, now that would have been by far the funniest thing I would ever have had the honor of witnessing. XD Also I have to say that the receta que tu posted sounds so good, and I do believe I have found my meal for this evening. Thank you ooh so very much. ;)
Wow, I've inspired 2 people with this simple recipe!?? Somehow I don't think RH will be joining our little party tonight...
What is cooking at the casa this weekend:
I have a favorite turkey burger recipe that has shredded zucchini and red onion in it, and plan to stuff red, yellow, orange bell peppers and maybe a zucchini with it and bake with some tomato sauce on top.
Also will be marinating a pork loin in italian salad dressing, then grill it up. I will use that during the week for a no fuss dinner. I just reheat in toaster oven, sometimes with a medalion of goat cheese on top!
Anyone else??
I think you just created MY menu, too! Thanks!
Cool, I was hoping you could use some of this! I am going back to very low/no carbs again...need to get some weight off before the cruise, cuz RH wants pictures! 0.0
Yes, a bum stole my Pants and I couldn't stop laughing for some reason but I could not stop him, I was out at sea for a swim. Was enjoying myself at the beach when I saw him stop over my stuff go through it and he decided he'd take my pants. @_@
Sirius – Thanks for the hug!
RH – Thoughts to the family and those affected... No hugs for Odie, he's being a PITA, must take after hubs who was upset with me to taking the newest Kleenex box instead of an older one...from the man who rotates his socks! Ha
MicheleG – Thanks for the support. MS is very hard to diagnose and my thought is there are probably way more people who have it and just don't know it. They don't even know what causes it, not hereditary, not contagious, and every person has it a little different but with some common symptoms.
I looked up the early symptoms and they are subtle:
The most common early symptoms of MS include:
Tingling
Numbness
Loss of balance
Weakness in one or more limbs
Blurred or double vision
Less common symptoms of MS may include:
Slurred speech
Sudden onset of paralysis
Lack of coordination
Cognitive difficulties
Yep, imbalance feels like walking after being on a cruise ship for a few days, or a drunken sailor, your pick. Weakness in leg, can't lift the r leg more than an inch or two off the floor, have to lift it with my hands most days to get out of the car. I can't walk for more than 5-10 mins before its uncomfortable and weakens even more. Cognitive – I often can't remember the word I want to say or just stop mid sentence and it takes a few minutes to figure it out. They forgot spasticity...my r leg is stiff every morning and the mother of all calf cramps in 2010 left me with foot drop, which causes you to trip and/or fall....so I wear an AFO brace on it now. Fatigue is another, as well as bladder control. My symptoms are quite mild compared to some who are more advanced. But it is not fatal, so I am grateful for that.
Wow...you have my sympathies.
Diabetes has its subtleties, too. so I know (more or less) what you are trying to deal with. The lack of obvious symptoms is what makes the diagnosis (for either malady) drag on for, sometimes, years.
And you mine...my MIL had diabetes (and luekemia) and hubs daughter died from it at age 35...I know that diabetes can be very dangerous and you must keep track and control of it at all times...
There is not much I can do or not do that will make mine better or worse, so I can slack off at times and be 'lazy'! :D
Now back to our regularly scheduled Eatocracy, this is depressing and I have another board to do this on!!
I agree! (((Hugs!)))
lol, well never heard that type of complaint before @_@ , but at least all is well with you. I've had an interesting week to say the least. I had a bum steal my pants two days ago at the beach.
steal your PANTS?
LOL – first time I read that I thought it said "steel my pants", trying to figure out how one would do that, metal reinforcements??
Hey hey hey and a good morning, how are you doing today?
Howdy and thanks! I am dong so well I can't stand it!
*HUGGGZZZZ* I also shall now use that link for my pending amazon purchases. ;) How's the weekend so far at le casa?
@Rich: Pleasure to see you back friend. How's everything so far?
Ah a weekend thread!?? Cool

Good Morning-–I shall hit up Amazon for some NEW modification ideas to your w/c. How's the weekend so far? I was up the majority of the night trying to get updates on the Henryville,IN tornado. Still have ex-relatives that HAD houses there. One of the sisters lost a cousin. Total devastation. Give Odie a hug for me please. Back later.
wo......please know we care about you and yours...please pass on some righteous hugs and love to your family. "Ex" means nothing when suffering these kinds of losses.
Will make it a point to learn more about MS. Thanks for this link!
Morning weekend warriors, I've left coffee, biscuits, crumpets, tea, pancakes both buttermilk and wheat on the table with maple, blueberry, raspberry, and peach syrup.
FUS DO RAAAHHH!!!!
