He was released safely to the ocean where he was immediately spotedd by a large squid who came and devoured him. The squid wanted to thank all involved for locating and deklivering his delicous meal!

Lobsters of this size have been growing for a long period of time. It probably has no exceptional genetic makeup but has been allowed to flourish without hinderence. Still a big a$$ lobster. Were you slobbering like I was?.....I thought so
I worked in a Lobster restaurant in CT. This thing is not the biggest I've seen, but it definitely is around 30 years old if not older. Good for them for letting him go.
That would've made a feast for the gods. Kidding, but alas, good for them for releasing the lobster. Now it has a second chance in living its life, hopefully undisturbed.
Good deed to release it. It must have taken 20 years , or more for it to have reached this size and weight. only the crushers weight half the total. Wonder how many get to grow that size and weight before they are taken by predators, or man.

Wow! That's a biggin! There is one almost that big in an aquarium in Booth Bay Maine, Think he's like 23lbs or so.
While impressive, it's probably too big to be Good Eats.
