While you're frying up some eggs and bacon, we're cooking up something else: a way to celebrate today's food holiday. Such a sweet surprise – February 20 is National Cherry Pie Day! As if you already didn't have enough reason to celebrate cherries out of season - it is National Cherry Month - this may be the sweetest excuse of all. Tart, sweet cherry pie filling is swaddled in a golden, flaky crust that is a perfect complement to this hearty fruit. Morello cherries are a favorite amongst bakers for their sour cherry flavor. And when it's your pie, you control the sugar. Whether you get all fancy with a lattice-top or double up on the crust, bake a little love in your kitchen today with this cherry pie. After one bite, we don't blame you if you burst into song. |

Love that pie!!
When EVERY day is a food "holiday" it becomes meaningless.
Virgin's have their own day now?
Bring back the McDonalds fried cherry pie – the baked one tastes like crap!
I'm just glad Mickey Dees even has a cherry pie again (for a limited time, no doubt). But yes, the fried one...ah, memories.
Cherries on their own are fun to pick and fun to eat but when you group them inside a bland toasted pastry shell and throw in some goop, it really does ruin them for me. I bet they would be good in a lemon frosted bundt cake.
Just a few months ago, it was "National Pie Day." Now they are creating sub-dvisions of each major food day to give them their own days? And you Americans wonder why you are the fatest on the planet.
Did you mean to say fastest and just forgot the s?
I think he meant fattest and forgot the 'we don't give a cr@p'. Viva la bacon!
We'll call you back when it is "National Whine Like A Six Year Old Day".
Want some cheese with that?
hater. i prefer to think of us as a joyful culture that loves to celebrate! and what do you always have to have when you celebrate? food and drink! take a bite of a southern pulled pork sandwich and you'll be begging to emigrate.
Have another drink, loser.
1) It's President's Day.
2) George Washington was the first US president.
3) Read the story about George Washington and the cherry tree.
There's your answer.
Yes, then you'll know that indeed 2/20 is not Washington's birthday... but then this is the level of accuracy that one expects from lame media...
Oh yeah? Can you also tell what year he became a president without checking on the Wikipedia???
No one said this is Washington's birthday. They said it is President's Day. Reading comprehension must be a forgotten skill in your neck of the woods.
I'd Hit it, The Cherry Pie I mean.
Oh, where is RichHead on his most cherished of days?
