Pssst! Got a sec to chat? We are utterly thrilled when readers want to hang out and talk – whether it's amongst themselves or in response to pieces we've posted. We want Eatocracy to be a cozy, spirited online home for those who find their way here. Consider the daily Coffee Klatsch post as your VIP lounge – the primary comments thread for readers who'd like to chat about topics not related to the articles we're running. That way, everyone knows where to find each other, and each post's comments section remains on topic. |

All single, live alone, parental units should be required to return calls within 12 hours!! I hope she is out at a casino having fun....but I'm ready to put a Lojack on her!!
You could say this 'Justin', Bieber never believed in Santa. You may continue with your day.
This was my morning activity of enjoyment. The lady quoted in the article about landed in MY lap.

As if there isn't already enough excitement during the holidays. How did she almost end up in your lap? Did you get pushed away? ~_~
Seriously, I'm glad no one was hurt.
The people one the left side of the car where the piece fell off and sparked the third rail all jumped up and started screaming and hollering. You woul dhave thought we carrened off the side of a cliff. Whiel it was a surprise, it was quickly noticable that nothign else was goign to happen and we were in no immediate danger of fire or harm.
People react differently to different situations, but this one was a bit entertaining with the urban crowd that was involved and the comments. "Git me off the Mother F****** train RIGHT now" "Oh Jesus, not yet, I'm not ready or you yet." "Are we on fire, are we on fire" "Why the hell is he not stopping this damn train!??!?!"
Oh city life. Gotta love it.
What up Crew!
We do the presents one at a time which can be interesting without little kids involved. I figure it just provides more reason to be sipping on something so by the time its all over I'm usually comfortably numb.
Yahoo!. Shopping. shopping. shopping!
Does your family unwrap all the Christmas gifts at once or do you do one gift at a time? We do one at a time.
The kids go first and it's a free for all with them, then the adults. Pure mayhem! :)
We used to open one present each Christmas eve and then the day of Christmas it was every kid and adult for themselves.
On Christmas morning (usually too early for my taste....) we'd hand out each gift more or less one at a time. Starting with the smallest package for each person then ending up with the biggest for last.
We open our gifts one person at a time staring with the youngest. When I was little we opened all our presents on Christmas Day but hubs and I buy Christmas PJs for the boys every year and we let them unwrap their PJs on Christmas Eve.
I forgot all about the Christmas Eve tradition. My family didn't do that, but my bil's family is all about it. When they were little, it gave the kids all day Christmas day to play with everything. Kind of a cool way to look at things.
Looks like Sir Biddle is getting punch-drunk on shopping. Someone throw him a thermos full of Scotch!
I forgot about Christmas Eve! We used to get one present (a toy) to open on the eve. One year when my kids were little and we were at moms, we were to each open 1 present, but it got out of hand and pretty soon we had opened every last one of them! Fun memories....
HO-HO-HO everyone! 2 days to go, then 6 glorious days off, well 4 anyway, 2 will be air travel days...
Hard to believe this was just 2 years ago...now there is one more little girl, poor Brenden!

Beautiful photo!
Wonderful photo!
Thanks! Although this time we will be in 27 degrees instead of 87...brrrrr.
OMG...you work in Tysons, right? Have you had Neisha's? neisha.net for the website. I had the Panang curry tofu. Freaking awesome!
I have and they use to by my favorite Thai in Tysons however the best few times service was horrible so I've been going to Basura Thai instead. As a bonus Basura also has a Tyson's location.
For Thai in Herndon Sila Thai is pretty awesome, better than the one in the clock tower shopping center IMO.
I'll have to give that one a shot. I usually go to the one in clocktower since it's right near the office but i'll push for the other one next time :)
I am a huge Thai fan and the only thing that keeps me from eating it all day every day is the boy's hard core peanut allergy. Another good one is Sakontra over by the Fairfax Gov't Center, same shopping center as Costco. Another great one is Thai Basil in Chantilly, on 50 just west of 28. They were featured on Food Network for their Pad Thai but I prefer their basil sauce dishes, A-MAZ-ING!
Just sent Truth out the door with his leftover sandwich and a special note in his lunch he'll find when he opens it later. Its been a great couple of days spending time with him and I'll miss him a lot. Thanks a bunch to all of you regulars who make his life a better place every day!!!
Merry Christmas Ms.P from CSS..:))) and Thank You.
Your $1.20 is in the mail, CSS, thank you for your service ! :-)
Gooooooooood morning and pending Merry CHRISTMAS to all!
I'm on a tiny campaign to bring back Christmas to Christmas. I am tired of pandering to those who would disembowel American traditions. It's Christmas, CHRISTMAS! not just the "Season" or a "Holiday," or whatever other watered down word is in vogue.
I'm with you on that!
I wouldn't mind that either. I've been saying "Happy Holidays" to people since I was a cashier putting myself thru school. It could take a few seasons to change the habit.
thanks you-all! (((HUGS!)))
I say Merry Christmas to people who say it to me however I say Happy Holidays to people when initiating the greeting because I don't celebrate Christmas and feel strange saying it "out of the blue". I once wished someone a Happy Chrismukkah and the results ensured that was a one time only thing.
We all have to stay within our own, personal "comfort zone." I am triple A American of Scottish lineage and I will CHRISTMAS up this particular day and time every chance I get. We gave up "Easter" and its commemoration of the Resurrection decades ago ("spring break" these days) and now the cross hairs are on Christmas.
American traditions, philosophies, and generally the total way of life (mine!) is despised around the globe, and I am going to push back though I know I am only ONE person and will have limited effect.
Nevertheless...... OK, I 'm off my soapbox ...(sigh)
Do not pull other peoples' pants down. It's rude and disrespectful.
Haha! Sounds like RicH is playing pranks again.
I can Moon Walk with my shorts around my ankles.
the visual makes me want to ask for the bleach...............
What about pulling them up?
This just in. "Kim Kardashian wears a sleek tuxedo for her family's black tie Christmas card." That is all.
Good morning all!
Bah, Humbug. :))
What's shakin?
Thanks to good foundation garments, nothing at all.
Fantastic!
Top of the morning everyone!
Howdy Doooooo, Mr. Two. You doing ok. this morning?
I am doing better than ok. I'm doing fantastic! I'm feeling particularly blessed this holiday season. What did you get WD for christmas?
I found her The Complete Rin Tin Tin collection on DVD. I Love the Internets. Get ready for some snow headed your way.
If it snows, I am going to hibernate at my place until it all melts. People here are stooopid when it comes to driving in the snow. Plus my fancy german car sucks in the snow :)
who you callin' stoopid???
I feel the same way about doomahsses who act like they don't know how to drive in the rain in Florida. It's rain people! It's not like you don't get any where you live!
end rant.
Klatschers are automatically excluded from any sweeping generalization that I may make.
Well that's no fun. HA!
Ok folks, I am out to go do some drywalling, and some communing with the family, whom I am VERY blessed to have in my life. MANY thanks and MUCH love to all the regs here. Need to hit the cafe, highway and LGA today, so I will not be around. Much love to all. I care for you all much more than you know. Be well!
BTW-Forgot to say...Don't get plastered in the garage this morning..HA!! These jokes are worse then some of Queenies.
And for the record, I have to say that I am blesses with one of the best siblings the world could ever offer. That woman is like a huge human hug/safety net...Truly one of the finest people I have ever had the priviledge of knowing.
*blushing*. Back at ya, bb.
Good morning. How's everyone on this fabulous Tuesday?
Truth what's going on? Sounds like someone mightily disappointed you.
You could definitely say that...
Do I need to break out the hardcore, not-for-pleasure hardware?
Do I need to break out the hardc0re, not-for-ple@sure hardware?
No, but many thanks my darlin'...:)
I think I need to go watch out for Zuzu's petals...
Indicating a second chance for someone?
))))))HUGS((((((
Morning Sista'....Please don't tell me I'll be running in rain the next two days?
You won't if you're heading down to PCF. We don't have rain in the 'cast 'til the weekend – and that's only 20-30%.
Thank You, WD expects me to hold the umbrella while she finds her favorite spots.
Understandable. Can't have watery things going on top & bottom. That's just too confusing.
Cute video today. Looks/Sounds a lot like Gene Wilder in his "Willie Wonka" era.
And to Kat: We could not get into Hearth, but have you ever tried the baked eggs at Cafe Ronda, near Central Park West? Frreakin UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A blend of eggs with parmesean, mozzerala and fontina cheese. Absofreakingloutly unbelievable!
I bet deep fried Nutter Butters are awesome.
Great idea! Coming soon to a State Fair near you!
Good morning all!
How is everyone doing today?
Good Morning Bro...Your up and at 'em early today. Coffee,Tea and chocolate are ready for everyone. Looks like Big Ben got "clocked" In SF last night. That should help Denver with the playoff run. Light rain in Mobile this morning.
Did some work online last night after talking to a really good friend for a while. Looking forward to getting back to the office and some sense of normalcy.
Drive safely Bro!

And for what it is worth, the value of friendships is HIGHLY underrated. Many thanks to all. I love you guys!
Good Morning Lil' Buddy...How was the weekend? Nice picks this week......WD and I are arguing over one of them, sooooo here goes..
1. NYJ–I wouldn't put it past Ryan to place itching powder into the jocks of the giants. Put a Fork in 'em...they are done.
2. KC–They are playing at Home and the team has faith in their Interim coach.
3. Carolina–After kicking the Texans butt, they will do the same to TB.
4. Dallas Cowgirls...We will show Philly some Brotherly LUV..Texas style.
I'm going with NYJ, OAK, CAR, DAL.
