It feels like 1000 screaming Banshees with tiny needles poking my lower right back and proceeding down my right leg.Can't sit upright for too long or everything cramps up...So fun. How's the weekend going?

Oh yea, the heating pad is my best friendsie right now. I was placing my 38 lb. Butterball into the truck when it popped. Truth called me last nite and with the pills the Dr. gave me I wonder if he could understand what I was trying to say...HA! Guess I'm just getting old...:(((

Good Sunday Morning all! AleeD – Hope the floors got done just fine... RH – You need to check in my friend, a bad back is no excuse! Super cold here (for us anyway), beef bourgignon yesterday was deeeelish, potatoe and leek soup today and some type of biscuit...I have a bunch of leftover thyme and some cheddar, so not sure those will go well in a dough? Hubs is off to the hispanic market for some fresh pico de gallo, he's making machaca for breakfast, yum.

"egg wa rsh" LOL! I vaguely remember those commercials in the 70s or so. I do remember there being a K F C that had a big bucket sign that was bu sted and did not twirl. Interesting, the commercials even then showed a bucket heaping full but when you actually buy it , it's about a quarter filled with chicken. Or whatever it is K F C is calling chicken now.

I'm not thinking beyond getting the floor installed ..... tomorrow. I'm trying to stay quietly and cautiously optimistic. Am failing miserably. ;) S'ok tho'. There's a Granny Smith Woodchuck in the fridge with my name on it. Tonight I will have it and that should calm me down ...... some.
Roast sounds good, Truth. I'm in luck! My pops will be in this weekend so we will be doing country fried steak and fried spaghetti. I'm going to take him to a steakhouse for Veterans day as well. What you got cooking, JBJ?

Cook the pasta like you always do. Then in a frying pan, cook in some peanut oil and slowly stir in some egg. I've tried to do it but it never comes out as good as his.
i just checked our weather...rain and cold all weekend so some kind of chowder/stew or slow cooked for hours!
Beef or venison stew in cold weather is just heaven!

I talked to him yesterday. He is laid up with back issues and it trying to train WD to walk on his back and massage it. I am more concerned with what he was doing to throw his back out in the first place. Hmmmmmm...

Army brat here, father was career and pow in Korea happy vets day.
HAPPY VETERANS DAY! We are a service family. Mom and Dad met in the Air Force during end of Korean War/Conflict; dated for 6 weeks; got married, and were together for 53 years. Cute fact: Mom made Sergeant 6 months before Dad did (she used to bring that up every once in a while). Baby sister retired from Air Force as Master Staff Sergeant after 21 years. Baby brother did a tour in the Army as an MP in Germany during Gulf War.
Thank you to all our veterans who served to protect our way of life and our country.
Amen to that. And sounds like you have quite a few career military folks in you family. My pops put in 24 years in the Navy.

Actually, one of the best television shows of all time was back in the 1980s and was "Hill Street Blues". One of my favorite scenes was when one detective with a serious alcohol problem finally finds his way to an AA meeting, and when asked to introduce himself, winds up being greeted by his police Captain, who was a longtime AA attendee. Good stuff there.
