Yes, the bad boys kind of liked the car, but everyone ran when I pulled up at parties, pretty cool. I think they stripped the car of anything uselful, expcept the motor which was awesome, but it still had the little handle for the spotlight on the drivers side. And a very dull shade of gold. Hope you get fixed up soon and on the road, it must be boring as all to be stuck like that!

Rescue Truck just pulled up behind Big Blue and this skinny kid named Craig, walks up to the drivers side door..."Sir, Do you realize that both right rear tires have been shredded"? Really Craig,I tried to miss the stop sticks that FHP threw out in front of my truck,Did I Fail? So,he goes back and looks one more time and then says,"Your axle is on the ground and I may have to jack it up if I have a hydraulic jack"? Soooo,Craig,Did you bring 2 tires? Yes Sir,just don't know if they are the right size? It's going to be a long night.

"You mean off the Highway"? The real kicker is ,he has one proper size tire and will have to go back to alligator Florida to get another one of proper size. Phil, Is my Texas accent that bad when I say 2 tires and here are the sizes? Shoot me now, please. HA!

Bro, you have an accent that could be cut with a knife, but I think Craig is a kid who does not understand the value of getting it right the first time. He'll learn eventually. Probably.

Morning chums. Er... afternoon, actually. I'm in medieval mode, so I'm having a simple pork stew (roasted pork, cabbage, beans and onions) with a rye bread tureen. There's enough stew and bread tureens for all, if you're interested.

And some homemade mead. You cannot forget the right drink to go with the meal.

Today I am eating as a peasant would. A simple gruel, bread, cheese and fruit for dinner. (Though rice instead of barley. I don't much care for the barley version.) This weekend, the elaborate royal feasts. I miss my time re-enacting. Don't have the kind of time to participate anymore.

My friends and I used to go to the Ohio Renaissance Festival every fall. Every year we'd say that we were going to go in costume but we never did. I always said that I would have to be royalty because I don't do dirt or manual labor. That is also why I could never be Amish...that and the bonnets. I don't look good in a bonnet.

You would make an excellent renaissance Queen, my liege. (Not medieval, I think. Still probably not up to your standards.) However, I must warn you, the perils of female royal garb are many. You will be wearing at least five layers of heavy fabric, plus jewelry. Make sure to stay hydrated and bring a nice fan. And some servants to make sure you are kept cool. And you must always be aware of your royal station. No afternoons at the pubs, or time with the theatre folk or minstrels. Royalty keeps away from such morally depraved activities.

But, I could see you as a pirate queen. The garb is cooler and you can do what you like, when you like. And wear as fancy or not as you wish. Still, you have a whole crew of servants at your beck and call. (Of course, all pirate queens are historically incorrect, but it matters not at your ye old faire.)

Funny, the things we didn't have in high school that are so common now...internet, hell a computer, cell phone, answering machine, etc. I remember driving around in my first car, a police narc car bought at auction. It didn't even have a radio, so I had a portable cassette player on the front seat. And yes, when I was 6 years old I had to walk to school on top of 10ft of snow (lived in ND)! :)

yeppers, I found it helps to cut the fruit into malls and pre-freeze them and use them instead of some of the ice cubes
so it comes out to like 2 cup frozen melon balls and 1 cup yogurt and 1/2 cup ice cubes. I use a combo of cantaloupe and watermelon but you could use honeydew as well

    Good morning all!
Sorry to hear about THing 1...I think a can of Red Bull will help him out nicely.

As to coffee, oddly enough, I do not drink any at home, and even more oddly, I will be dropping it from the diet as of next week. During my EMT physical, I was flagged for rather high BP, so caffiene is out.

On to better news, my big sis got her power back as of yesterday afternoon. The bad news is that the entire contents of the refrigerator have to go. The good news is that as of tomorrow, she leaves for Aruba, so it had to go anyway.

    How is everyone else today?

Morning Truth. I heard an interesting stat this morning. Men that snore are 80% more likely to have high BP. Not the reason why I have it but intersting to know. What's the latest with you and Miss Saigon?

We are well, thanks. No big news here.

Not sure why the BP is high. I think I just get ticked off going to the doctor's office. Between insurance, copays, delays and the loud kids in the waiting rooms, it is a monumental pain in the azz. When I give blood, I am usually in the normal range.

Best to thing one for a fast and speedy recovery. I can see some mom bonding time in the future.

Truth, that's what hubby goes thru when he visits docs. His normally low BP shoots up when the doc keeps him waiting. ;) That's something that should be factored into the design of future BP monitors ... ;)
QOE, I hope Thing 1 feels better soon.

I concur with AleeD...The White Coat Syndrome affects alot of people. I would feel better if the Doctor would walk in wearing a Black hooded gown and carrying a scythe-at least I would trust his opinion more. :))

Lord... I remember having an ear infection when I was younger, which made going to this concert/festival thing a lot more interesting (read: boring) because all I could really hear was the massive amount of bass coming out of the speakers at any one time...

Good morning all. I'll switch on the coffee makers and put the tea pot on the stove.

So... coffee drinkers: electric coffee makers, stove top pots, campfire? What's your preferred method of making coffee?

Good Morning,How are things in Albany? Still waiting to hear from Faith and Ms.Grammar–so I hope they and their families are doing well. On coffee....WD and I have a small cigarette lighter plug in job that makes about 4 cups at a time. At home we have a cuisinart 12 cup machine that seems to stay on all the time....this is my 4th machine.

I'm here – finally got out of my sub-development. Lots of flooding around me. My house sustained no major damage – couple of leaky windows and such. Could have been so much worse. I feel so bad for the folks in NE. All that damage and it wasn't even a hurricane at that time – a tropical storm. Go figure!

Anyway, all are well in the house and I'm back to work.

Still doing well! :) She's looking forward to the cruise at the end of November. A side effect of the radiation, though, is needing to avoid direct sunlight. So...we're going to Nassau with a balcony suite. She says she's wear long sleeves, slacks and a hat.

How did you an WD manage? Were you in FLA then? Or back home?

Things are looking better here in VA. All power should be restored by Friday. I see there is some crazy azzed flooding going on in some New England states. Interesting now after the hurricane has blown through how some people are criticizing that federal and state governments for over reacted. Crazy...
