While you're frying up some eggs and bacon, we're cooking up something else: a way to celebrate today's food holiday.

One bite and you'll want to paint the town red - August 26 is National Cherry Popsicle Day!

You can skip the lipstick today if you're planning on indulging in a cherry ice pop or two. This sweet frozen treat is sure to turn your lips red and put a smile on your face.

Summer may be slipping away but it's not over yet, so cool off with a rich popsicle while you still have a chance. It's a cheery way to get your cherry fix, plus these little red berries are so, so good for you. After all, we believe one of the best meals to satisfy your fruit serving is dessert.

You can pick up a box of pops on the way home or if you want a little more from your popsicle, make your own variation. Cherry especially pairs well with yogurt, chocolate, cantaloupe and even a whiskey sour!

I prefer the bacon and eggs with hash browns and a huge bowl of grits.

I am sitting here under thompter shade, cringing at the thought of having to be inserted on EW-530C. I wonder what matter of ill will befall our company there. Sarge says the last time we ever attempted contact with them, half the entire company was lost. Granted that was many moons ago, but sometimes things stay the same on this desert planet. HQ has given us clearance for 1600 energy cells. That's a far cry from what we really need. I guess I should have not set my popsicle down. The time it took to write this, it's all but evaporated...even in the shade.
