While you're frying up some eggs and bacon, we're cooking up something else: a way to celebrate today's food holiday.

How many bites does it take you to get to the center?  June 8 is National Jelly-Filled Doughnut Day.

You might still be feeling that sugar buzz from National Doughnut Day and trying to decide how you doughnut/donut, but it's easy to agree that filling a fluffy pocket of fried dough with a surprising blast of fruit jam is pure bliss.

Just one bite and you'll fall in love with this decadent dessert/breakfast of champions.  These puffy treats are all business on the outside but a bright party on the inside.  If you've never had to dab a squirt of jelly-doughnut jam off your shirt, join the club today.

Either swing by your favorite doughnut shop or, if you double deep-fry-dare, try making a baker's dozen for yourself.  Try this spin on peanut butter and jelly doughnuts, the classic jumbo jam-filled indulgence or even cupcakes that taste like jelly-filled doughnuts ... or is it the other way around?

Grab a cup of Joe, your favorite jelly-filled fried dough and get jammin'.

I love jelly donuts. I hate picking up what looks like a jelly donut and biting into it, only to find it's actually cream filled. So disappointing.
