For the love of all that is holy, this is a FOOD BLOG!
Accordingly, food is the focus here. Nobody is disparaging the contributions of our military. As a matter of fact, the homepage has a number of articles saluting (no pun) the contributions of soldiers and families. Lighten up some.

"Only about Grilling"??? Any staffers at CNN been to war? Apparently not – you idiots have assumed your demographic changing to yuppies and lazy tweens! Memorial Day has a much deeper meaning, but this station/site seems more concerned with "viewership" than meaning. Shame on you all for the title of this link/article. Just F you !

Oh I know that's right. It's sad that when this day come along a lot of military/pro-military folks get all crazy. They can't grasp that there is more than just honoring servicemen on this day....always has been. There is no intent of disrespect.

"Take a moment to to say thanks to the men and women...", then get on with the gluttony? Sorry CNN, you really missed the mark on this one. Saying that Memorial day is "all about grilling" is akin to going into a church and telling them that Christmas is "all about buying your kid the most expensive toys around". Kindly think just a little bit before publishing your headlines.

Hubert Gees – "While carrying a dead soldier to the forester's lodge at Hurtgen, we were attacked by American artillery. We jumped into the nearest shell hole for cover, and it took me several seconds to realize that I was next to the body of an American soldier. His open mouth seemed to cry out in condemnation, imploring God's mercy and hoping in anticipation. I was filled with sincere compassion. Is there a place in America where a mother will mourn him?" – That's what Memorial Day is all about. Not grilling, sorry.
