While you're frying up some eggs and bacon, we're cooking up something else: a way to celebrate today's food holiday.

Get on your boots and grab your favorite little basket - May 20 is National Pick Strawberries Day!

We're all about the berries today and the rest of May because this month is also dedicated to celebrating strawberries - even if strawberries aren't really berries at all because its seeds are on the outside.

But just like a puppy wearing bunny ears on Easter, we're happy to think of strawberries as whatever they want to be because they're so darn delicious.

In case you can't pick any strawberries today because (a) like my grandmother, your dog ate all of yours off the plant or (b) you don't grow any, consider "picking" some up at the store and get creative with this juicy fruit.

You can eat a whole bowl in one sitting, mascerate them into strawberry shortcake, bake up a pie or cream cake, cook down into a jam and cover them in chocolate. If you like to keep it simple but decadent, melt some white chocolate on the stove, mix with heavy whipping cream and drizzle over sliced strawberries.

The possibilities are endless, and yes, you can even deep-fry them.  Whatever you do, make today a strawberry avalanche.

I am a 58 year old male who has been hospitalized for 2.5 months with cancer of the stomach. Most of my stomach was removed during the surgery and I am still recovering. I was misdiagnosed for a year and told I had acid reflux. I still have a feeding tube I must use daily and must eat small portions (4)ounces of food every two hours. I lost a lot of weight but still need chemotherapy which I cannot get until I gain the weight back which may take a year. My weight was 189 and now it's 117. I am experiencing severe financial difficulty and unable to work. I am in need of 6,000 to 8,000 dollars to pay my rent and bills. I would very much appreciate if someone could assist me in my time of need. My Pay Pal Information is Thank you..267-560-7631
