What's all the fuss? We have so many food trucks in Portland OR where I live you can't throw a stone without hitting one. The Pros is that they give fast service, good food and are convenient because they are everywhere. An added bonus is that they must park only on spaces and lots where once there were gas stations where no one wanted to dig up the ground and remove the old gas tanks to create a new foundation for a permanent building.
The Cons are that they sometimes are not the cleanest establishment. People have gotten sick eating at these but that can and does also happen at anchored restaurants. They do not have to comply to the ordinances the permanent restaurants like zoning laws and the like but the those restaurant owners are now making noise in the legislature that thihs should happen.
All in all, The food trucks are fun. Chicago is missing out by not allowing them.
