Pssst! Got a sec to chat? We are utterly thrilled when readers want to hang out and talk – whether it's amongst themselves or in response to pieces we've posted. We want Eatocracy to be a cozy, spirited online home for those who find their way here. Consider the daily Coffee Klatsch post as your VIP lounge – the primary comments thread for readers who'd like to chat about topics not related to the articles we're running. That way, everyone knows where to find each other, and each post's comments section remains on topic. |

Magnificent issues altogether, you just received a new reader. What may you suggest in regards to your put up that you simply made some days in the past? Any sure?
LAST one, I promise.
Tech Support: "I need you to boot the computer."
Customer: (THUMP! Pause.) "No, that didn't help."
our tech just left in a huff – leaving me here alone – which was the whole reason for me staying so there's no one left alone in the plant. Gotta fly! See y'all later! )))))))))))HUGS((((((((((
HAHAHA you guys are too funny!!!
I have NO planns for the weekend! (happy dance!) I've been wearing myself out with friendsies time the last couple of months, so a day to myself is going to be good. Cleaning up the yard and house, nothing strenuous. Especially after this 6 day way too many hours when it's all said and done week, I need some quiet time.
One to close the day with. See you tomorrow.
For reasons too involved and irrelevant to explain, a friend of mine had possession had a copy of a nasty program on a floppy. It would erase the entire hard drive of whatever computer it was loaded on. The floppy was labelled "INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS" and kept in a locked box at his store.
One day, a man he had hired to work at the store found it and popped it into the company's computer and turned it on. Wouldn't you know it - the hard drive was erased.
His explanation was, "I wanted to see what it would do."
WordPress just scolded me for posting too fast...I am required to slow down........

Well Kat could tell what the real deal is but I think it is an automated system that screens for not only word usage but speed and frequency of posts. So I must proceed at a more sedate pace.
Actually have to take a dinner break. How late are you working? I'm on Pacific Daylight time. What is yours?
I'll be back a bit later.
Depending on what our tech decides to do, I'm working 'til 10pm EDT.
Whatcha having for dinner today?
Yeah – that'd be a WordPress thing, I bet. It's ain't us trying to keep you from chatting, I swear!
Aw heck, I believe you! I just don't understand how a human can be faster than the system. Interesting. ;)

Anything fun planned for this weekend?
Heading home for the day, hope to ba back on later tonight after i feed the horses and run the spaz twins, nite for now!
See you soon or have a great weekend!!! ;)
Tomorrow, I'm spending my Friday off playing musical cars and other things. Oil changes & tohrz ("cuz tohrz ain't pretty") and pricing bulk items at Sam's with a friend.
I've gotta make the best use of my time off as I can. This week I overheard my boss telling the second-shift lab tech that we're almost caught up on the testing and we can cut way back on the hours. Sheesh! Just as I was getting used to things, he jerks me out of my comfy zone – again. [8-} Oh well. I'll find out the straight dope on Monday.
I will be working on my truck as well if my parts come in today, rebuilding my turbo on the diesel and fixing an annoying oil leak while I am there.
Tires are no fun, so expensive anymore, was close to 900 last fall for truck tires, and were not talking kiddy over sized stuff, just stock truck tires on an F250.
I have no idea haha! I guess maybe blogbaker where Michele started hers? It shall be a project for while I'm laid up!

HAHA my boy does that when I'm blow drying my hair. I'll be upside down and pop! there he is. He loves the blow dryer, little freak! If I get up off the couch to go all of 5 feet to the fridge for another drink, they're up and watching and poking in the fridge. Vigilant nut dogs.
@Alee- oh trust me I'll be all over this place like white on rice. Also, probably going to start a blog! Only found one while doing surgical research and I think that the more information that is out there the better. So I'll be posting blow by blows to help the next sad sap that tears their tendons and has to have a surgery.
Sounds interesting (nodding again at Truth). How do you start a blog?
Look here for stuff on how to make a blog.

Wanna come down for a visit? ;)
"The humidity has made a quick comeback [sic]. Evening temps in the mid 70s, down to only 69 overnight, with some fog forming. Clouds and sun again for Friday, high of 85, only a slight chance of a shower near the seabreeze in the afternoon."
Thanks for the offer, the heat sounds wonderful, but the humidity, oh how I do not miss that. I grew up In Pittsburgh PA, those humid summer days were hard on a person.
My folks are actually on thier way back to Pittsburgh from FL right now, they bought a place near Sarasota last year, this was thier first full winter down there as full time snow birds, really seemed to like it. They did get a wicked shock though, they came to MT for xmas, from 75, to -25, lol
That is wicked! Any idea why they picked Sarasota? Just curious.
BTW, the humidity only lasts about 48 of the 52 weeks a year. LOL!
Its near Sarasota, I can't remember the name of the town off the top of my head. The location came from my Uncle who has been snowbirding there for 25 years or so now, they went down to help him drive back, a place in the park where he was at had a sign up, $1, with the catch being the annual lot rent was coming due. They bought it, so are now snowbirds as well.
LOL @ the 48 – 52 weeks a year
[Thought you might like that ;) ]
Yep, for about 4 weeks during the winter season, humidity can get as low as 60%. Not 4 weeks consecutively either. :)
Just love my home in Floridor! :)
Let it snow let it snow! A good spring snow storm event continues for SW Montana tonight into Friday. Winter Storm Warnings are still up through 6pm Friday above 6,500' and Winter Weather Advisories below 6,500'. Snow accumulations are likely with 10"-20" over the mountains and 3"-6" for most valleys.
ughhhhh, so much for doing much on my 3 days off.
Are you ok? Is WD ok?
Are you out there?
HAHAHAHAAA thank you thank you, so funny!
My pleasure! Glad you liked it!
Working 'til 10-ish again tonite. If you wanna play, I'll be here!!
I will be around 'til about 9 EST! Then it's off to LA. Yippee!
Earlier you mentioned ".... to cater a party."
Is that code for something else perchance?
I may be around as well, think its just me and the deranged border collies at the house tonight.
Where's your bride?
Attending a session our dog trainer is putting on, to help train said deranged border collies, lol
Our male loves people, will lay in anyones lap, but if he so much as sees another dog other than our female, he turns into Cujo. She has been working with the trainer for 6 months or so now, making some progress, but at 2 years old, he is a rebelious teenager yet.
The female is in doggy dance training now as well, so between the two, she is pretty busy with them.
That's how my girl is. She hates other animals but loves her boy dog and her kitty. Get her in-range of anything else, though, and she flips out.
Is yours a border collie as well?lol Very smart dogs, pick up new tricks in minutes, and have a huge vocabulary ability, but if they aren't working, they are looking for something to do, which usually means mischief.... Our female is in the house all day while we are gone, with nothing better to do, she moves all movable objects into a nice little herd of play sheep, shoes, toys, socks, etc, lol
Cool. I hope y'all come out of this with a woof who's happy with everybody!
My sister, the self-proclaimed dog hater, just got a dog. (Huh? That's what I said, too.) The control freak (my sister, not the dog) and her hubby have gone thru an uber-obedience course. They keep a tight rein on their woof.
Control is good, but she's militant.
No she's a Dutch Shepherd, still a working dog though. Very very very smart, with that fun little propensity to get in trouble. I leave my 2 in a dog yard all day. All she does, all day, is try to jump the fence to go "play" with the dogs next door. If I leave her in the house things start getting.... restructured, shall we say. My job changed a year after I got her and I don't have nearly enough time to keep her mentally occupied. I wish I could bring her to the office!
Sounds like a rough go for the dog.
I haven't involved myself in the training of the BC's much at all, they are the wifes "kids" so to speak. Her and the trainer have a different style of training than myself, but i just let it be what it is.
I ran a pack of big game houds for 16 years, up to 6 dogs at once, as well as trained a bunch of labs over the years, beagles as a kid. While not militant, I do believe in solid control, and that means being the alpha dog of the pack in my experience. Doesn't take much to establish that either.
too each ther eown I guess, 100 ways to skin a cat as they say.
As long as you aren't sacrificing body parts or furniture, yep, to each his/her own. :)
Is your madre going to take care of your "kids" while you're recuperating?
Have to love those working breeds, they need more mind work than physical excersise I think. Its almost eery at times with them, they will just sit there and stare at you for an hour, just waiting for something to do.
I keep threating the bride that I am going to turn one of them into Alex the Beer dog, give them a job, and let me be lazy, lol
I know! She'll just sit there and watch. She watches me, the cat, her "brother". What cracks me up is when she administers the proper social order on my boy. He'll be screwing around doing something he's not supposed to and she'll jump on him and bark until he stops doing whatever he's doing.
She's much lazier than he is, doesn't have the hyperactivity problem that one would think she would have with a working breed. She's content to just hang, as long as I'm around and she can follow me and "help" with whatever I'm doing at the time. I love her to bits, just wish I could get her to get along with other fur-friends.
Alee, yep mom will be helping with them for the first couple of weeks then my grandparents will be around. They are low-maintenance if I'm home, basically sleep and cuddle all day. It's the leaving and coming back part where I'm going to have challenges, they get sososososososo excited. My mom is going to complain the ENTIRE TIME about them, mark my words. Just cause her dog is home all day with one of six very active people, thus is a lot less excited to see new people.
the "helping" is classic with our as well, I cannot move from teh kitchen table to the fridge and back with out them walking with me, all 6 feet. The male is learning some dance moves as well, and he loves this one, comes up from behind, sticks head through the legs til his shoulders touch your knees, then walk with you in that position, everywhere...... I will be building a fire, and pop, there is a dog right there watching what i am doing, right between my legs, back up, he is there, forward, he is there, side step, he is there, lol
Sounds like you're going to have an adventurous recuperation period! Hope you get to hang here alot! :)
You are quite funny this afternoon, thanks for the laughs!!

Well,....THAT one went over my head.....huh?
Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?
Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here and drink whatever comes out?"
Who was the first person to see an egg come from a chicken's butt and think, "I'll bet that would be good to eat?
Wasn't that from "Calvin & Hobbes"?
http://www.corsinet.com/braincandy/stupid.html
I wonder the same thing about the first wingnut to eat a green bean ....
or a mushroom....
What I can't figure are the doofuses who watched the first people who ate one type of mushroom, watched them die, then try a different one, didn't die, then declare it delicious!
Sauteed in garlic: yes!
Raw, no thank you!
One of my daughters got on a kick for a while of eating those BIG mushrooms like an apple. Can't remember the name. I'd do it too, but I would dip it in Bleu Cheese dressing first.
Portobello? Like an apple?
I grew up watching my mother eat tomatoes that way. I guess anything's possible.
If a hen and a half can lay an egg and a half in a day and a half, how long would it take a monkey with a wooden leg to kick the seeds out of a dill pickle?
I'm out for the day! Have a great weekend all!
Been really nice hangin' with y'all today. Just remember one thing about work. A slap on the back is only 6 inches away from being a kick in the azz. Hi ho I go. Later.
Welcome back! I missed you...you always have good ideas for cooking...now I am looking to make some lamb kebobs to go with couscous with spinach and feta. Ideas for spicing the ground lamb??
You know, I have never cooked with lamb before. Whichever way you prepare it make sure you tell us how it turns out. Sounds like you might have a winner here.
Buuuuutter and o-ra-ga-no.
I have never personally cooked lamb, but the absolute best lamd I have had was in the Basque restraunts in Elko NV, maybe do some poking around/googling for that.
I love our cafeteria here, they have all kinds of fresh whole fruits & veggies so I can shop for dinner at work! Just picked up 2 lemons and a red bell pepper for a buck! :)
I love a good score like that.
Tee Hee – you wrote "score"
Finally found a good use for this snow, just thumped one of my "problem" users with a snowball. I feel amazingly better now.
LOL! Next time throw one of those keyboards that someone has taken a shovel to.
Oh God .... not again.
7.4 off the coast of Japan. Those poor people. [:'-(

D@mn... Can't even imagine how stressful that must be. Their nerves must be completely frayed...
The closest I can come is the 4 hurricanes in 5 weeks that almost hit us. We were sooooooooo lucky that year. Nerves were frazzled, but that's nothing compared to actually being hit. Those poor people.
Truth, any word from Miss Saigon? Is everything ok where she is?
No word from Miss Saigon aside from when she first arrived. Keep in mind that her family does not have internet at home, so she would have to go to an internet cafe. Vietnam is under a tsunami warning, but she is pretty well inland. Still worrisome though. Many thanks for asking.
West Coast Morning to you!
The plague has reared its ugly head again.
And it's raining.
The end.
Ah, but the rain will cleanse the plague from the world. Rejoice!
And a happy WCF afternoon to you, nice lady!
Can I have change for 20 pesos please? I have to pay the valet out front so I wouldn't get wet.
Have some sleepy time tea and some vitamin C....that should do the trick. And I'll deal with the rain...
**snaps fingers**
Did it work? Did the rain stop?
Well it's not raining very hard!
I've got tea, water, cough drops.
My a/c unit for the server room is on the fritz, the server is spazzing out because it's been getting too hot, my desk computer blew up last night... Tech is out to get me!
Time to call a tech-orcist??? Have you had the opportunity to speak with our good friends in India, yet? Had to do that myself, yesterday. That was a fun call.
You mean....
"Have you made sure it's plugged in?" Yessssss
"Try to turn it on" Nothing.....
"Ok move the plug to another plug" Er...
"Are you sure it's plugged in?" DUDE.
"Try turning it on again" *facepalm*
"Do you see any lights?" I JUST TOLD YOU IT'S NOT DOING ANYTHING!!!!
Ok we'll fix it....
And then got another call asking the same questions. HAHAAH.
Tazer, you know why they do that, right? You would not believe some of the undeniably stupid things people do when they call tech support. Not plugging in their computer is one of them. And people will tell you ten times that yes, they do have it plugged in, only to find it definitely wasn't.
WHERE'S THE "ANY" KEY!?
I know I know... Though I know logically why they do it, it's still frustrating being on my end, when I already did check all those options before calling. >.<
Well dang....I been lookin' for the ANY key for years and all the keyboards I can find just do not have one! SOOOOO frustrating!
Why do they put Braille dots on the keypad of the drive-up ATM?
Why do the politicians make laws for things like braille at the drive-up ATMs?
It's a Group Therapy kind of thing.......
Sounds like you need to go cold turkey.
Git yerself to where that island life grabs you! If you're going to be hot, you should be wearing a bikini and have an umbrella drink in your hand!
Screw Tech!
He'll pass GAS for sure! Don't do it!!!
Yeah, but they're lamb toots. How bad can that be?
Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?
Thanks, Milton! LMAO-haven't heard that saying in years
This comic strip just hits my funny bone perfectly sometimes – like today. Enjoy! :)
http://comics.com/pearls_before_swine/2011-04-07/
Good morning from the West Coast, expecting crappy weather today. Well the lemon/garlic chicken with roasted brussel sprouts won out last night and the chicken was wonderful, even the hubs liked it and that is huge in my house! I'm now in search of ground lamb to make kebobs to go with the couscous with spinach and feta. :)
NO,NO,Your pushing your luck!!
How do you get the cous cous to stay on the kebob skewer?
They must be really tiny skewers .........
Ha, ha! I saw a recipe for the lamb kebobs and thought they would be a natural to go with Alee's couscous. I'm quite sure hubs will pass on this one, but it's my culinary exploration! ;p
Howdy ho Chumarinos! How'a everyone today?
Sorry, I'm in an annoyingly bright and cheery mood just now......
How are the Argonauts? (How many are there, anyway?) Have they gone on a quest for the Golden Fleas yet?
aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh...not How's...rather How's!
aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh AGAIN! ...not How's.........meant: How'a rather How's! wish i cud tipe...............
Don't sweat it MicG. We get it. I wish my dog had "Golden Fleas."
What kind of cereal do Argonauts like?
We need to hear from both EG and TWO about the care and feeding of both Minions and Argonauts.
Guys?
The argonauts eat hidden treasures cereal from general mills....when they can find it :)
Do an internet search for "Hidden Treasures Cereal"
Interesting (nod at Truth). Never heard of it. ;)
Interesting 2: I didn't learn 'til a few years ago that Cap'n Crunch cereal was in the shape of treasure chests. Would Argonauts, then, eat that, too?
Morning chums. Now that I've seen that boo berry advert, I am definitely in the mood for a sugary, marshmellow cereal. (I spelled marshmellow wrong, but I'm not in the mood to look it up to fix it this morning.)
Anybody else used to eat Alpha-bits with marshmellows? I can't think of a lot of marshmellowy cereals I used to eat, but we had that one a lot. I tended to lean towards cinnamon toast crunch or cracklin oat bran.
Yup Cinnamon Toast Crunch. What was that cereal that little kid in the commercial ate where the other kids are saying "he won't eat it, Mikey hates everything?"
I actually don't know what the commercials for Cinnamon toast crunch are like. I just liked the taste.
Nope! That was my fave: Life!
Lucky Charms was one. Kaboom! was another.
What's Kaboom!?
See attached:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaboom_(breakfast_cereal)
Interesting.
Morning, klatschkies!
Slept like a ROCK last night, and without any Nyquil at all! It did NOT, however, stop my throat from getting suspiciously dry... Didn't I deal with this a week ago?!
Well, at least my mood is lifted up by my breakfast/caffeine replacement this morning: a smoothie with an immunity booster! WHEE!~ om nom nom...
May I respectfully suggest a quick trip over to the Breakfast Buffet for some breaksert? It'll go great with your smoothie!
Glad you got a good nite's sleep. Feeling better, too?
I'm feeling a whole lot(ta love!) better today. As for the breakssert thing, I saw it on my way in...
Remember those guava/cheese pastelitos I brought in the other day? Now imagine a guava/cheese coffee cake!
~_~
Mmmmm.
Look for the bare necessities, the simple bare necessities. Forget about your worry and your strife. I mean the bare necessities old Mother Nature's recipes that bring the bare necessities of life. Wherever I wander, wherever I roam....I'm singing out loud again aren't I? Sorry!
Watching the Jungle Book with Thing 1 and 2?
Actually they watch it at my parents house (we don't have it at our house) but Thing 1 and I have to sing it every night before bedtime. Thing 2 and I sing "Do You Hear the People Sing" from Le Mis or Rock of Ages. Technically, I do the singing and he falls asleep.
Not to sound schmaltzy, but that is one of the nicest things I have seen in a VERY long time...
The Jungle Book? It is one of my favorite Disney movies.
No, that you sing to the boys. Trust me, they will ALWAYS remember how their mama raised them, and their future wives will thank you some day.
I met my mom when I was 18.
You can join us if you'd like. The singing starts around 830pm EST.
I repudiate(WOD) EVERYTHING the crybaby's have to say. It's NOT my fault!
Then you are one of the crybaby's. Please don't forget to stomp your feet. We want the whole package.
I have Hi-Arches.....Can I slap my ass instead?
I'll smack your azz for ya' in a bathroom stall.
Oh don't do that! I'll never get an interview out of him!
Just wondering if anyone has a recipe for red velvet cake...
Anyone? Bueller?
I have one that I like, but just wondering if there are others out there with which to compare.
I have a great one, but not with me. Is it ok if I tweet you the information tonight? It's the love child recipe of Paula Dean and Martha Stewart :-D
For sure! Thanks!
Word of the day time!

I miss the word of the day. Looks like your fishing trip was fun. Good for you, Truth. And I hope the bride is safe in her travels.
I repudiate (WOD) the idea that Kweenie won the last hit it game.
WIN ^^^
LOL! I get to get out and play a little today.
I repudiate(WOD) your repudiation.
Repudiate smudiate. LOL! RicH said you were out sick? Were the rug rats sick as well?
I was sick but I wasn't out. There's no time for sickness when you work in a hospital with all ready infected people. Ha! The boys have both had stuffy noses and hubs now has an inhaler and an antibiotic but I've been afebrile for the past 24 hours so I'm hoping I'm over the hump.
Yup I know what you mean. Can't get sick if you work in a hospital or during budget time.
Good morning, glories!
@Truth: Glad you made it back from your fishing trip in one piece. When you didn't show up here yesterday I was beginning to think we were going to have to call out the National Guard to look for some guy who looks like Bobby Flay fishing somewhere in Colorado. I have a feeling it would have taken them a while to find you.
I am sure the bears would have found me LONG before the National Guard would have.
BTW, thank you for the trip down memory lane. :) That was fun!
Question to the Klatsch: Which monster cereal was your fave?
I was a Count Chocula kid.
I was a Captain Crunch kid myself...
I...(sob)...wasn't allowed to eat them!
Why?
I feel your pain. The closest we got to a "fun" cereal growing up was Rice Crispies...without a sprinkle of sugar on top.
I wasn't allowed to eat Count Chocula either, because he was a vampire. Or lucky charms because of the leprauchan. Funny, that, as I distinctly remember watching the Count on sesame street, but my parents had their things, just as all parents did, I suppose. I think my mother was trying to prevent me from turning out... Evil.
I was also a Capt'n Crunch kid...not quite a monster though.
I have fond memories of Cap'n Crunch. I vaguely remember the monster cereals, but, if memory serves, my parents believed they were too high in sugar.
As our resident cereal connoisseur, spill the beans–What was yours?
I loved all cereals that had tons of sugar in them, problem was I had to share with 4 siblings and the sugar stuff got eaten first leaving corn flakes. Yuk.
Of the Captain Crunch line, Peanut Butter Crunch was my fave;
CC was my fave monster cereal;
But Life cereal was my most favorite cereal of all!
Frosted Flakes – They're GREAT!
Eat more Wheaties!
Morning from MT, strange weather, pea soup fog, with snow, but not exactly real cold, it is like a horror flick.
Horror flick starring BooBerry? :)
I used to like those when I was a kid, and i think I remember when that commercial came out even, must be getting over the hill.
Well .... that was 1973 ..... must make me OTH, too. ;)
Funny to see it in color as well, we had a black and white TV until I was 12, how times have changed.
Good morning all! I am VERY happy that I started a new job this week since my old office is in the process of shutting down. All my old co-workers found out yesterday that while they will be keeping health benefits they will NOT be getting back pay and will not be able to use PTO like they first thought. Hopefully the gov't will figure stuff out but if not I'll be watching from the sidelines.
Whew! Very happy for you that you missed the axe!
seriously. The funny part is that a few weeks ago during the first shutdown "scare" I was put on the list of essential workers (SL moment, sorry). The down side is if the gov't goes the museums will close and since I volunteer at the USHMM...I'll suddenly have some free time that I really don't want.
"SL moment"? What's that?
FWIW, I feel you're pain. The relief of knowing you dodged a bullet coupled with the angst of knowing that you dodged it by *this* much. ))))))))MANY HUGS(((((((
SL=Schindler's List
On the weekends I volunteer at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum with my main area being the Film Festival. So not only have I memorized the four short movies we show during this, I have also seen almost every movie on the Holocaust so that I can make suggestions to visitors. I have been there for 5 summers now and if it winds up shutting down I'll be a very sad person. Esp. since Days of Rememberance are fast approaching. I will be crying if that gets cancelled/downsized because of the gov't shutdown.
Understood. I'll keep my fingers crossed. There are some things that just shouldn't be touched. Hopefully private sponsors would step up before things get too out of hand.
Thanks! The issue right now is that one of the "rules" of the shutdown is that no employee can work as a volunteer. So even if we have the $$$ and people we might still be SOL.
I hope Jerv is doing well. I also wonder what happened to Sir Biddle. Seems he has drifted out of our gang.
As to fish, I have a grill pan at home, and the easiest way to go is to use some cajun seasoning and lightly blacken it. The great thing about that is you can vary the level of seasonings depending on taste. If I do not break out in a sweat, it is not seasoned enough, imho.
Ya know – we follow each other on Twitter. Lemme see what's up with him!
Ditto...
Fishing was really good. Caught my limit, so I will have bass in the freezer for some time.
I could not be more jealous, frankly. Grill? Fry? Broil? Raw with your paws like a bear?
Sounds like you had a good time. You missed Jerv this morning. It was great talking to him.
Good morning all!
A rare cloudy day here in the MHC. Just got an email from Miss Saigon, who arrived safely and conveyed the regards of her family.
How is everyone in the klatch today?
Morning! Glad to hear your bride is safe & sound as ever. How are YOU doing today? Catch any fish lately?
Good Morning Bro! Glad the Mrs. made it safely. How was the fishing?
Good morning, sir! So glad Miss Saigon made it safe and sound!
I believe that it will even be cloudy here on the coast, today! There is a chance of rain for the next couple of days, and the lows are even set to get down into the high 30's!
Glad that there are still optimists out there! I am not totally jaded. I am sure that there are those in the government that truly do care, but it just seems that there has been way too much partisanship over the past few years....
(Getting off the soap box)
On to happier subjects... Today is my Friday! I am off to LA to cater a party this weekend! Should be a blast!
Well Happy Friday to you, my friend! It is Friday for me also – once 10pm arrives. Lovin' yer IG coffee!
I think the reality is we hear about the bad stuff because that is traditionally what "sells" news. I have to be an optimist because ... if I gave up ... I'd have to go live on a deserted island ... eat coconuts & fish .... weave my own hammock ... say ... this isn't sounding so bad after all. ;)))
I am personally so over the government BS... You would think that elected representatives would remember that, despite their own personal hang-ups, they serve the people. That would be hoping for too much, I know.
So True–I think I'm gonna cry!!!!
Don't cry! Become a liberal stooge like Truth and I will interview you both!
Oh, great, Boehner found our blog?
Don't you have some tanning to do? Your usual orange skin tone seems to be a bit light...
I'm waiting on Pelosi to give me the jet. Then I can come out to California and get some real Rays! Got the Boogy Board packed and ready to go.
If it weren't for the fact that I do vote for some of these blowhards (definitely NOT our creepy Lurch-of-a-guvnor tho'), I would burn my soapbox, too. If I don't make myself heard, how will they know when I think they're foo-ing up my gubmint? ;)
Politicians seem to remember they serve the people (who have VERY short memories and no drive to do research) when it serves them ... or if they have an epiphany.
Please don't lose hope. The bright side is that we aren't so bad off that we have to substitute coffee for Soylent Green! ;)))))))
Morning all! Thanks for the IG coffee SeaBee (you're a guy, right?) Mucho appreciado. Would you please pass over that IV set-up? I'll be needin' somma dat, too! ;)
Gubmint shutdown because the big bad crybaby-types aren't able to get their budgets settled THEIR way? Eesh. I would wager the politicians don't feel a thing in their paychecks – but the "little" guys certainly do!
I heard on the radio this morning that if there is a shut down, the soldiers in the middle east won't get paid, but will get back pay. Ain't that some s hit?
Some s hit for sure In fact, I hope it IS media-generated bullsh!t. I get so tired of hearing about the big, bad politicians, who have never done an honest day's work in their lives, make the people suffer for their it's-all-about-me policy-making. Especially the military. They have to be the hardest working people on the planet, but they, like teachers, get the tiniest paychecks compared to the importance of their occupations.
[climbing down off my soapbox]
Agreed. Since the last election cycle, I have completely stopped following politics and burned my soapbox.
Right there with you, my friend. I have become more and more disenfranchised with the past few elections.
Thanks SeaBee,I can use a BIG cup of coffee. Hmmmm–NO coffee picture this morning...must be getting prepared for the Government shutdown!
Morning RicH and SB. Donuts yum! When the govt shuts down do politicians still get paid?
Hey Lil' Buddy–Been worried about you! How's everything going? Can you say Political SLUSH FUND?
Everything is going well. Staying busy at work = job security. Hows WD? She giving those lot lizards hell? I need to start me a Coffee Klatsch slush fund!
HA! WD won't let 'em get within 25 feet of the truck. How's your little one doing? Oh,and How's Pop's doing? We should all have a Slush Fund.
Doggie is doing great. Lost a little weight and is zooming all over the place. Not bad for a 15 year old gal. Pop is still as grumpy as ever. LOL! Have you and Queenie still been going at it? I miss you two horsing around.
Queenie is in Sadland as BOTH her Indiana teams got a spanking in the Final Four! She should be used to it by now since the COLTS suck anyway. HA! Glad everyone is o.k.–Kept leaving messages for ya,so did Snowbunny,JBJ and alot of others. Figured you might have gotten caught with PeeWee at the local theatre?
LMAO! That little bastard Peewee. He needs to go on tour with Charlie Sheen. What a combo that would be! Nah, just been really busy with the fiscal year end stuff. Oh to be a teenager in high school again.
I hear ya Buddy. Wish I knew what happened to SirB. Miss him too. Queenies been fighting a cold and hasn't been up to herself these past few days. Of course the week ain't over yet! Sheen and PeeWee together–Yea,I WOULD pay to see that!!
Sorry to hear that about Kweenie. I hope Things 1 and 2 don't get sick too. Well, gotta go. Duty calls. Been great chatting with you this morning.
Take care my good friend! Don't be a stranger for too long. Have a Great weekend and say Hi to Pop's for me.
Good morning! Unfortunately, insomnia has struck, again...
On the plus side, I have some industrial grade coffee made and I am going to pick up some donuts! Help yourselves!
