While you're frying up some eggs and bacon, we're cooking up something else: a way to celebrate today's food holiday and the most delicious finds on TV. Brie-ng it on: April is National Grilled Cheese Month. We know it's hard, but try to curd your enthusiasm. Whether it's plastic-wrapped Kraft squares and white bread, with a schmear of grape jelly (seriously, it's a thing) or all fancy pants with fontina and gruyère - in the wise words of T.I., you can have whatever you like. Say cheese, and let the gouda times roll! What's on TV? Definitely a "lick the screen" kinda pic. Yum.
Yum. The best Grilled Cheese sammy – Smoked gouda with bacon on roasted garlic ciabatta, and some grainy brown mustard.
Grilled cheese day? Nice. I was already planning grilled goat cheese and jalepeno wantons tonight. (Goes really well with a spicy dipping sauce.) Couldn't have had more perfect timing.
That sammich looks yummy!
I am so having grilled cheese for lunch today - has anyone ever had a grilled cheese and peanut butter sandwich? Would jelly be a tasty addition?
Wow, believe it or not, tomorrow is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day - I guess I will have to try combining the two sandwiches today!
Well then, since you ask:
That was too funny! But why is a banana singing about peanut butter, jelly, and a baseball bat?
I have no idea why, but that song is strangely hypnotic. Will be stuck in your head for days...
It's better than the chick singing the Friday song.
