Our beloved bar goddess Lu Brow offers up the makings of a classic New Orleans quaff, just in time for Mardi Gras.
Brandy Milk Punch
Makes 1 cocktail
2 ounces brandy
1 ounce simple syrup
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 ounces milk
Freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish
Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with a light dusting of freshly grated nutmeg and serve immediately.

Curious that the written recipe is different than the one she tells us in the video. Much different.
1 good tablespoon of vanilla spoken versus 1/2 teaspoon in the written version will make a huge difference in the flavor.
