As a small child in the 60's, I remember regularly watching Jack LaLane's exercise show and I would follow right along with him in my living room. He frequently had his beautiful wife Elaine on the show demonstrating exercises on how to increase the ladies bust size. Jack was way more fun to work out with than the boring PE classes in school.
I loved Jack LaLanne's approach to fitness. He opened his first health club in the 30's! He was truly a pioneer of fitness and health. And he was married to the same woman forever. sob. He'll be missed. RIP, Jack.
I also remember watching Jack LaLanne on tv as a child. He always had his german shepard on with him. My mom and I used to do the exercises along with him, and I loved it bacause I got to "play" in the living room. He was a true innovator, and I thought if anyone would live to be 100 or beyond, it would be him. RIP Jack.
I remember being a small child and seeing him on television in the late sixties. Glad he had a full life, whatever the reasons for it were. LONG before Jane Fonda was pushing fitness, this guy was the original. May you rest in peace, Mr. LaLanne.
This guy was underweight and decided he was critically unhealthy? I wonder if he had some medical problems.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that his bulking up was probably due more to the weight lifting he started after his revelation, than his diet. Though I'm sure it was good to cut out a lot of sugar, and he seems to enjoy being most vegetarian, so more power to him. But I'm thinking the exercise was more important than the diet in his case.
