Pssst! Got a sec to chat?

We are utterly thrilled when readers want to hang out and talk – whether it's amongst themselves or in response to pieces we've posted. We want Eatocracy to be a cozy, spirited online home for those who find their way here.

Consider the daily Coffee klatsch post as your VIP lounge – the primary comments thread for readers who'd like to chat about topics not related to the articles we're running. That way, everyone knows where to find each other, and each post's comments section remains on topic.

'Twas the day before Christmas and all through the lounge, not a Flamenon was stirring, not even JDizz.

So - whatcha eating this weekend? What type of cookies are you leaving out for Santa? Pass the eggnog and discuss, please.

Merry Christmas Sarah LaTrent! Hope you got your New desk and a Well deserved Raise. Thanks for putting up with us!

It's Raining:{ Santa better bring the scuba gear. I guess you get used to the 100 + degree temps here. The humidity is a little much in Houston versus what I grew up with in Dallas. Course the Winters are alot better down here and WD likes it so there really are no complaints. AD loves snow-and I love snow cones. Go figure.

Well, Brother, I think I am out. Best to you and your, and I hope that you have a wonderful, blessed and bountiful Chirstmas. Will talk to you next week. I am honored that you, JDizz and I have help this blog to catch fire, insofar as it has, you know?

    • RichardHead@Truth

We have all been Blessed to meet and take care of each other. Merry Christmas my Brother to you and The Bride. Semper Fi!

  10. Truth@RichHead

Service is a huge part of the process, as we both know, and believe me, I know just how lucky I am...And I really hope and pray that JDizz makes it. Not an easy road, but well worth taking. He seems to have lots of reasons to make the effort, with a young'un and all. If we choose not to live for ourselves, let's do it for the next generation. Not the real reson we should carry on, but all too often, the best reason at hand, you know?

My imagination, or is there a far amount of wisdom in our little talks...?

    • RichardHead@Truth

Reminds me of middle age dogs, drinking Beer and saying"Pull my finger"! Yes Sir, We have been There and done that many times. The NGF will get our Brother under control-and he Will like it. She is a Great Gal-something he needs right now.

      December 24, 2010 at 6:31 pm |
      • Truth@RichHead

Agreed on all counts. I am not sure where (if anywhere) I would be without Miss Saigon. I am a very lucky and very blessed man. I wish for you the same, with ADawn or otherwise. I hope NGF gets our brother through this. NOT an easy road no matter what demon is being battled, as we both know.

How is the Texas night this evening? I spent a few nice nights in your town...I LOVE TX and would likely live ther if not for CO.

        December 24, 2010 at 6:36 pm |
  11. RichardHead@Truth

I also wonder if Ingred thought we were two dumbazzes last nite? Ha!

    December 24, 2010 at 6:20 pm |
    • Truth@RichHead

I know about Ingrid....I basically apologized, so I hope she understands...Odd thing. I think SirB said it best last week about his Jodie Foster comparison on 5@5...

      December 24, 2010 at 6:25 pm |
  12. RichardHead@Truth

I always seem to say I concur. You my Brother are the Lucky Man. Don't ever let go. Now we have to worry about Jdizz. I've worked mine out and we need to help someone else.

    December 24, 2010 at 6:15 pm |
  13. Truth@RichHead

Well, I am glad to hear all that is good, and you will be in the prayers henceforward for all the greatest good can serve, whatever form that may take. Hard to understand that sometimes that is exactly counter to what we want, you know? Garth and "unanswered prayers", you know?

Emmm..."Star Wars" on television now, so perhaps talk like Yoda, I should...

    December 24, 2010 at 5:47 pm |
    • RichardHead@Truth

Already got the Snort. I was enjoying the family here today. Reminds me of long ago. Miss my special Brunette tho. Did ya find the unmentionables in the bag I left for ya?

      December 24, 2010 at 5:51 pm |
      • Truth@RichHead

Got 'em...Bride will be most mortified. She is most discreet.

Glad you enjoyed your day. Cherish those memories. They are all too rare, and all too fleeting.

Best to you and on the square, you two serious? Where do we send flowers?

        December 24, 2010 at 5:53 pm |
      • RichardHead@Truth

As I crossed the line in Laos many years ago,I get the same feeling now. It's a surprise. If it happens it will. You've been there I know.

        December 24, 2010 at 6:00 pm |
  17. Truth@RichHead

So are you and I the last men standing...?

Flannel Jammies (definitely for HER not me)
Plus I took a LOT of time and wrote her a love letter in Vietnamese...took me some time and brain cells, but I think it will bewell received.

    So who is here?

    December 24, 2010 at 5:31 pm |
    • wendy

      flannel jammies ROCK!!!

      December 24, 2010 at 5:33 pm |
      • Truth@Wendy

Miss Saigon is always cold...I think anything above 60 is hot, she thinks anything below 80 is cold, so we have an interesting house. But I think she will like. The most selfish thing woul dbe to buy Victoria's Secret, but like I told Sir Head, it is for her, not me...:)

        December 24, 2010 at 5:41 pm |

    • MicheleG

Sorry, I get the delay. It's the snow shoveling. Naked Grilling in the snow. Ought to be an Olympic event. LOTS to overcome before victory.

      December 24, 2010 at 5:24 pm |
      • Queen of Everything@RH

Naked grilling in the snow, sounds like there could be shrinkage of the meat involved!

        December 24, 2010 at 5:29 pm |
      • MicheleG

        LOL yet again...!

        December 24, 2010 at 5:32 pm |
  31. RichardHead@MG

#1 and2 ruled out. only charcoal starters are used and no clothes allowed, hence Naked Grilling. Good Point on #3.

Am I the only one whose glad that Rich is not my neighbor? Although, if he really does look like Sam Elliott then I might revise that statement. I do have a thing for older men....

      December 24, 2010 at 5:13 pm |
      • RichardHead@Queen

I would give up The Dodge Commercials but NOT those for Coors. I would never get to see my Brother Truth!

        December 24, 2010 at 5:19 pm |
      • Queen of Everything@RH

Christmas must be going to your head. I left you a perfect opening to comment on my love for all men. I hope you are not losing your touch.
