Pssst! Got a sec to chat?
We are utterly thrilled when readers want to hang out and talk - whether it's amongst themselves or in response to pieces we've posted. We want Eatocracy to be a cozy, spirited online home for those who find their way here.
Consider the daily Coffee klatsch post as your VIP lounge - the primary comments thread for readers who'd like to chat about topics not related to the articles we're running. That way, everyone knows where to find each other, and each post's comments section remains on topic.
Should have been "Stooooooooopied" Mall Cops. Powdered eggs and spam ain't bad!
Well,WD spent the nite alone as I-Sir RichardHead was in the Cross Bar Motel. No Biggie-just a minor infraction at the Katy Mills Mall yesterday. Now who says you can't give "Wedgies" to Dept. Store Santa's? Stooped Mall Cops.
Hey Gang, how is everyone today?
Hey Brother,What's up?
Not much...sitting here watching the NYGs beat up on Vick, and surfing the internet(s)...
How are you and WD today?
I hear ya.Maybe you'll get lucky this year and hit it Big on the slots. Got friends coming in from Indiana and They do all the cooking. Life is good except WD always packs on the lbs. for some reason.
Well, hope you have a wonderful time with your friends. I'm going to sign off for now and I look forward to a visit to the Lounge with our "Chums" tomorrow. Regards!
Thank You and have a good Sunday.
Well Thank You. You will have to bring some to the lounge this week.
Hey, virtual cookies R me!
Sounds like a plug for a new cookie store. LOL. What's your plans for Xmas?
Pretty much no plans at all. Too cheap and too poor. Going with my boyfriend of several years to a New Years outing at one of the Indian casinos nearby. When we go on those we eat like royalty.
Scolding myself here: The longer I live with diabetes the more I have a neurotic craving for cookies. The Eggnog cookies above will get Splenda instead of sugar and I will ration myself to a very modest number of cookies at any one time. (By allowing myself a tiny helping every so often I don't end up feeling totally deprived......)
HI-How are You?
Hi Back! For my age group: FABULOUS!
Now,Now, At least we woke up this morning. Thanks for the heads up on the other thread!
You're right....beats the alternative.....
and yes, the "other thread" has gotten completely out of control to the point of psychosis or something....
I concur! Got good weather today or raining? Gonna hit 70 here in S Texas and The Cowboys are actually winning. What part of Texas was your Mom from?
Here in southern California it's raining heavily and forcasted to continue pretty much until next Wednesday. Is why I'm playing on my computer. It's a day to stay indoors and do inside kind of stuff. So I'm putzing.....
A fun putz on my "inside because it's raining cats and dogs" agenda is to try to make eggnog cookies. Found a recipe on the internet so don't know how good they'll be.
Jerv and I will give 'em a try. We are the adventurous types. Sounds good tho.

Kat Kinsman – I don't usually post over the weekends but I have observed that the Wine Awakening Part 3, though posted December 9 is STILL being loaded with snotty pot shots, name calling, and general ugliness. It's been totally hijacked.
Is there any way to avoid this going forward? Looking forward to your advice and guidance with this (and this kind of thing, in general on the CNN blogs).
For my part, I will not respond in any way when I see an "attitude" pop up, in the future. (Hope Donna Huntley will do Parts 4, 5, and 6, etc. I think her familial quest is delightful.)
Sorry,I got lost while patrolling the Town last night. Got any cookies left?. Will se ya after church this morning.
Hello, hello.......anyone out there?
Apparently not. Okay then, I'm just going to be making a batch of dark chocolate mint cookies. That's what normal people at 9:45 on a Saturday night, right?
I am out...going to get some lunch and head home. Enjoy your Sunday All!
I don't know what I would without all the laughs I get from you guys and gals. Going shopping but will be back later to make my rounds. Have a Great weekend all.
Well, now that the football talk has commenced I think I will take my leave to make myself beautiful for the masses. Have an excellent Saturday everyone!
Oh and Rich, here's a visual for you: Two big, plump, milky, pink-tipped
scoops of vanilla ice cream with cherries on top. Now roll your tongue back into your head and put some ice down your pants and you'll be just fine. Toodles!!
May I remind you that I have been Knighted! Think that would rust my armor?
Maybe AD can buy you some Rustoleum for Christmas :)
I'm gonna speak French Canadian-Touche my Queen. Be careful shopping and stay warm.
I think he will get the start, much to my bride's delight. I think she has a thing for Tebow.
I think that Studebaker's thinking is this: Orton is struggling, and had a rib issue last week. Also at 3-10, the season is done, so why not give the kid a shot. There really is no downside. The local fans are also clamoring to see the kid play, so give the people what they want, you know?
I concur. I hope it snows like hell tomorrow. I would like to see the kid do well.
Just saw on the internets that The Broncos are thinking about starting Tebow? Seriously?
Okay, so Thing 1 just poked Thing 2 in the eye (screaming has commenced) and I just had to fish dog bones out of the garbage disposal. Before you and Miss Saigon make the full commitment to children, why don't I send you my two for the weekend? I'll even pay the shipping costs.
My bride is the second to youngest of TEN, so we have more than our share of nieces and nephews. She also LOVES to volunteer in the nursery at our church and is a freakin natural with young'uns. I think she could tame them...:)
Oh, and I love the Thing 1&2 references...they can find anything anything anything under the sun, you know...!
My,Didn't we get all PC after the sheriff checked in? Ha!
You were the one who reminded me yesterday that we are a family show. And besides the salt and pepper shakers are pretty nice. It's Elvis before the fat years and Priscilla before the "I've had so much Botox but my face is frozen" years.
Those are NOT the images imprinted in my mind. Sorry about the cold hands. I'll do better next time.
They aren't that old yet. They keep the house pretty clean.
I may just take my little sis to a Caps game. Two presents in one! My sister gets to go to DC to see the caps play and my mom gets away from my sister for a day or two:)
Do they hate housework? Hiring a carpet cleaning service, or a housecleaning service is also good for the seniors...
If I call my dad a senior, he would disown me.
Dont' get much snow where they are but someone to clean up all the stupid leaves in the yard would be great!
We're getting my parents a Triple A membership. They take lots of roadtrips to go antiquing and neither one of them has any business changing a flat tire on the side of the road or trying to find a a towing service in the backwoods of Indiana.
Can I still wear my Roy Rogers hat?
My family is VERY old now, but they hit a phase when they seemed to revel in rejecting and being critical about gifts. I used to refer to 25 December as "The Christmas receipt exchange" (to facilitate retruns)...Lately, I think they see the end in sight, so they seem to appreciate things more. Nights out, and anything that gives them less to do or worry about.
Three years ago, I got creative and pre-paid a guy who lives near my parents to plow their driveway when it snowed. $200 for the season, when 2" or more fell. That saved my Dad from having to go out and jack around at age 79 (with Parkinson's). They still complainede mightily (claimed the plow driver was not timely, didn't do it right, etc, etc, etc) but I think it was appreciated on some level.
Good man! I remember buying tickets and a limo for my folks before they passed to see Sinatra in Dallas. Oh they bitched and moaned but, they always remembered that night..
Glad to see I am not alone...What is it about parents that makes them so irritable? Even deeper, is this my destiny? Heck, I hope not!
My dad is just hitting his mid 60's and he says that he is getting older so he doesn't have to be diplomatic anymore. He just speaks his mind and blames it on his age :)
As I get older,I find myself holding back the anger at things that would have Teed me off years ago-Except Stooooopid Drivers. I've got enough gray hair, don't need anymore.
I'm only 29 but I find the filter between my brain and my mouth disappears a little more every year, especially after I had kids. I don't have time to sugarcoat the fact the vast majority of people are idiots.
A date for her and my dad would be awesome. And maybe taking my little sister off their hands for a few days :)
Any moms out there? What do you get a mom that doesn't want anything?
That's is not a trick question or a joke....but funny answers are always appreciated.
My mom pulled that one for years, and one year I took her up on it. Since the family knew this routine, she could not act insulted. She had a long face the rest of the day. These days, I send an Outback gift card and a recent picture of me and my wife. They seem to enjoy both. Donations to a good charity also make good gifts for those who have enough stuff. I do that for my Dad every birthday. At his request.
I concur with Truth. My mom did the same thing. Get her something YOU really think she may like. Check with some of her friends, she may have dropped hints with them.
My busy season as well. Have to do an 8-10 hour meeting today with a client.....luckily on the web so I am chat while I'm not talking.
Haven't mastered talking and typing yet.
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, and you cannot prove anything...
I've got everything on the WD webcam! Can't afford to get fired on my first day.
Are you in law enforcement or private security of some type?
Our sheriff AKA Kat is on vacation AGAIN-so I volunteered to patrol the town while she was gone.
Vacation? Yeah...not so much. Still here. And while I will be away for a few days this week, I assure you, it's anything but vacation.
I'll be bringing in Christmas presents for everyone on Monday so everyone better be on their best behavior thisweekend.
Terroristic threat. Please turn around and hands behind your back. Get to try out these handcufffs and search my prisoner!
Hey buddy, how about warming up those hands next time! Now if that left one goes any lower you're gonna be pulling back a nub.
My apology's ma'm. So as not to get accused of racial profiling I have a question. Are those REAL?
They're real and they're fabulous! Take a good look sweetpea 'cause this is as close to perfection as you're going to get. I'm thinking of having them bronzed LOL
Damn,I'm drooling again. Ummm, can I help with the molds?
While I understand that my Elvis and Priscilla salt and pepper shakers are magnificant, I don't know that I would classify them as drool worthy. I'm pretty sure you can still buy them in the Graceland gift shop.
Well Thanks for leaving me over here by myself.
I had my bride's xmas presents shipped here, so I am wrapping them here, so she won't snoop...
Took a half day off yesterday and was slammed...will likely be all week as well. I am getting cranked up from now until about late january. Busiest time of year for me.
How are you and WD?
If ya need extra tape I've got plenty. Smart man! Gotta do some shopping myself this afternoon after my shift is over from walking the beat.
How sweet! My hubby is out finshing his shopping right now...for his sake there had better be a waffle iron under the tree next Saturday.
That's better. What are you doing at the office?
Looks like I'm the last one out, so I'll turn out the light.
p.s. someone made a correct guess. But I think I'll wait until Monday before I tell.
Thanks all for the congrats on the 5@5 sweep! Even fooled/beat Kat, that was one sweet win! LOL Busy gathering up my recipes and warm fuzzy socks and charging up all my tech toys for the trip. BTW there are usually a couple of the boys here on the weekend, so stop by and say hi. Have a great weekend!
is anybody.... out there?
i think we might be the only ones working Witty!
Alas, the business day is yet to be over here in CA...
ah! i just finished talking to someone out in Cali... hopefully 5 comes soon for you! :) i have another 20 minutes before i get to run away...far far away!
My call is finally done! I'm outta here!
BTW – Is this place a ghost town on the weekends?
whooo hoo! congrats!!

I'm here! I'm here! Just spending some time, you know, working.... HA.
Wait how late do you have to work?

congrats JBJ on your 5@5!
Hasta to TWO and Dave#1.
I was only saying by to Dave.
I'm stuck on the phone at work. I really need a headset. I have been pressing my ear against the receiver so that I can type here :)
headsets are nice... but then your hair starts to look weird. :) i gave mine up a while ago. i could fax it to you!
OK, I think it is time for me to go. I just totally went off on Republicans Block Food Safety Bill. May have gone overboard. I am going home and forget about everything for 48 hrs.
good weekend to all....
RH may have some extra valium....
22 minutes and counting....
Hello all! Congrats to JB for winning 5@5!
Nice class-I slept right thru it while thinking of palm rubbing.
So you were the one sleeping in the back....
Was the heavy breathing bothering others?
It was more the moaning....and you drooled on the guy sitting next to you.
I thought I had been abducted by aliens and probed!
He was a kid Dr. anyway, should be used to the drooling by now.
If that's the story you want to stick with...
Well my friend, it's 6pm my time. Time to get the chili dished up and the bicuits out of the oven, the natives claim that they're starving. Have a great weekend and get some sleep (me thinks it's been awhile for you). Chat at you Monday!
Have a Great weekend my Queen. Stay warm.
