The American food system is broken. Most recent recalls included spinach, lettus, peanuts, beef, ground beef, eggs, deli meats and this doesn't include a host of others. They say they'll use the tainted eggs in mayonaisse and the tainted birds in meatballs and other processed food items like microwave snacks etc. The food industry controls the USDA and if people feel parinoid about eating boxed foods they should be. The conditions in which the chickens live, before giving their eggs and then their lives to feed us, is unacceptable. What happened to animal husbandry? Look it up. It isn't what is going on in mechanized, industrialized animal processing today. No where near it! I eat eggs from a farmer a few towns over. I see the chickens roaming the fields and if I would every get sick from his eggs, I would be in his face. But, he takes responsibility for his eggs and chickens and so I enjoy mine sunny side up thank you.

The European Union protects their food systems 100% better than we do in the USA. Why?
