Remember back to those halcyon days of oh, say, last week? Back when eating a couple of sunny side up eggs didn't seem like a life gamble on par with a Vegas weekend with Charlie Sheen? How did you order or cook 'em back then?

when I was a kid (before salmonella and such), my mother got some very fresh, just laid eggs. she poked a small hole on the bottom of one, and said tome me- suck on the end of the egg. I did, and it tasted just wonderful–yes, raw egg.

Best scrambled eggs – Melt a tablespoon of butter in a small teflon pan. Crack 3 eggs into the pan as if getting ready to fry them over easy. As soon as the whites start to cook, take the pan off the heat and scramble gently. As long as your pan has a heavy enough bottom to retain heat, in about 30 seconds you'll have perfect, creamy, moist scrambled eggs.

Basted: 2 eggs cracked in small non-stick pan with melted butter. Add one-half egg shell filled with water to perimeter of pan. Cover on medium. cook till tops are white in color and set. Dip toast into yolk and top toast with portion of egg. Primo!

Where is hard boiled?? That's a standard in my house! It's the perfect way to prepare eggs that are getting close to going bad. (FACT: they peel easier when a little old!) I eat them for any meal of the day, it's the perfect snack!

I thought it was odd that whoever put this poll together omitted "hard-boiled" as an option. Don't a lot of people eat hard-boiled eggs?

Over medium mostly...seeing all the comments on over medium, I can't believe it wasn't an option in the quiz. As a child I ate scrambled eggs w/ grape jelly and loved it. I don't think I could do that now. A little too weird.

Chose over-easy, but have recently re-discovered the soft-boiled eggs in cups from childhood in Australia. Ooooey gooey! And what do the Brits call those toast sticks? Soldiers? Plus you get to use egg cups!

I'll take eggs any way. A poached egg over a frisee salad, fried with soft yolk and crispy edges, hard cooked, deviled, omelets, yes please. I think it's very interesting that minutes after the egg recall I received a press release for an egg-washing solution and the next day a "chicken coops for dummies" guide.

    interesting...

I have a variety of answers but could only pick one in the poll (over easy). Because that's what I usually end up making (from local farmers' market eggs at least in the summer). Also love omlettes and poached eggs. Soft boiled and hard boiled eggs, or deviled eggs: secret for deviled eggs: add a touch of curry powder...

Scrambled with hot sauce, mushrooms and dill. Sounds weird, but it's good.

And I'm with Jdizzle on this one. Enough with the eggs. I know this is hard, so let's compromise. Could we maybe graduate to chicken? Or how about talking about things that have eggs as ingredients, like quiche? Quiche has eggs AND bacon, so it would be a great way to move forward.

    What do you say?

I like to take a big slice of bread, cut a hole in the middle of the bread, butter both sides, throw it on top of the stove and crack the egg right in the middle of the hole. flip it over without breaking the yolk, throw some cheese on top. Yummmmmm
