While you're frying up some Morning, tater - it's National Potato Day. Mashing news, no? Salute your spud. Butter it up. Toot the tuber's horn. Today's the day to nab an order of French fries, grab a bag of potato chips, roast a few wedges, bake a whole one - after all, it is one of America's most consumed vegetables. And for all you carbo-counting crazies out there, we'll have you know one normal-sized potato with the skin contains 45 percent of the recommended daily value for vitamin C and 620 milligrams of potassium. We spud you not. What's on TV? "Bizarre Food with Andrew Zimmern" - Travel Channel, 2 p.m. ET "Extreme Cuisine with Jeff Corwin" - Food Network, 8 p.m. ET "Gordon Ramsay's Great Escape" - BBC, 9 p.m. ET How do you take your tater? Tot it down in the comments. |

The potato is such a wonderful, versitle veggie! I can't think of a single way i don't like them?! My personal favorite; a good fried potato with garlic, butter, onions, and peppers... Yummmmm
Red potatoes baked in a butter/minced garlic glaze = heaven.
