A voluntary recall of eggs because of salmonella fears reached 380 million eggs Wednesday, the Egg Safety Center said.

Wright County Egg of Galt, Iowa, which announced an earlier recall last week, added several more batches and brands to the recall Wednesday afternoon.

"Wright County Egg is fully cooperating with FDA's investigation by undertaking this voluntary recall," the company said in a statement. "Our primary concern is keeping salmonella out of the food supply and away from consumers. As a precautionary measure, Wright County Egg also has decided to divert its existing inventory of shell eggs from the recalled plants to a breaker, where they will be pasteurized to kill any salmonella bacteria present."

Lets take all 380 million eggs and throw them at the 18% of Americans who think the president is a Muslim while they sit on the laps of all US House of Representatives and any other political fool unwilling to work in the best interest of America.

Our society is too dumb to even be bothered with it, they will still buy eggs, chicken, beef and pork regardless if the FDA which is a joke by the way, says its unsafe to eat or is recalled. THe FDA has the lowest standards of all developed countries in the world. Many european countries will not import our meats and dairy because of this. We deserve what we get for eating animals and animal derived products. America, Home the dumb, land of the fat

Meh... People are lazy if they can't wash their hands after handling them, cook them thoroughly, and then wash their hands once more. Salmonella is only harmful to those who have unclean habits. Those of us who do maintain a modicum of sanitization are perfectly capable of dealing with this without a recall or worry. All this recall is going to do is increase the cost of one of the last low cost foods available.
