Every weekday, we're highlighting a blogger we think you ought to know about. We can’t be everywhere at once, so we look to these passionate eaters, cooks and writers to keep us tapped into every facet of the food world. Consider this a way to get to know a blog’s taste buds, because, well, you should.

Who: Andrew Steinthal and Chris Stang, of Immaculate Infatuation
Where: New York City, New York
Twitter: @immaculateinfat

We have been friends since we met in college, when both of us were in the embryonic stage of careers in the music business.  Here we are now, eight years deep and holding down full-time jobs at Warner Music Group.  With those jobs comes a very social lifestyle - we’re out all the time, going to shows and taking artists out to dinner.  We both also happen to be obsessed with food, and eating out as much as we do leads to a pretty good handle on what New York City has to offer. So after years of being the guys that our friends turn to for restaurant recommendations, we felt it was time to go public. The world was in need of an unpretentious, unapologetic restaurant review website with a difficult name. Immaculate Infatuation was born.

There are a few things you should know about Immaculate Infatuation. We're not the blog that is going to tell you where to find the best dim sum in Queens, or how to make a killer pierogi. There are some really great sites that cover that, and it's just not our thing. We also won’t be using words like "toothsome" to describe the food we eat. That kind of professional food critic jargon is best left to the New York Times. We’re here for when you need a fail-proof recommendation for a "First/Early in the Game Date," "Girls' Night Out" or some "Action at the Bar."  It's a big city, and people have a lot of choices.  We just want to make sure you don't spend your hard-earned money on a meal that sucks.

Since our launch, we have grown fast and have had a few lucky breaks.  We're now producing original video content that brings our love of music and food together, like taking a rapper to a raw food restaurant or inviting a young rock band from Texas to evaluate BBQ in Brooklyn. Life has become quite a bit busier since this whole thing started, and we’re enjoying the ride.  At the end of the day, we're still the ones that our friends turn to when in need of a good restaurant recommendation ... we just have a lot more friends now.

Do you read a local or regional blog that you'd like to see featured? Send 'em our way for a chance in the spotlight.

I love reading their page and their tweets. I appreciate that they arent scared to piss people off (not that theyre mean at all!) Theyve responded to my questions on twitter and they have never led me astray. I trust them completely.
Would rather read their take on restaurants and bars any day over some stuffy newspaper critic. Good job spotlighting them, CNN.

These guys make great suggestions in a tone that I can relate to. I frequently use as a resource to figure out date spots, and the "Browse by Venue" option is a perfect way for all of us NYC music fans to figure out where to eat before or after shows. Keep up the good work Immaculate!
