You know it's a party when the BBQ sauce fountain starts flowing. Or, more specifically, that it's a 17th Street Bar & Grill party - in which case you're in for a rib-munching, lip-smacking good time.
Champion pitmaster Mike Mills and his daughter Amy make a yearly trek from their home base in Murphysboro, Illinois to New York's Big Apple BBQ Block Party to dish out thousands of their signature ribs to barbecue fans from up and down the East coast. Amy's fountain has become a staple at the event; when the sauce starts flowing, so does the fun.
See the fountain in action after the jump.
Each weekday, Lick the Screen will showcase one food photo that sets our stomach rumbling. If you'd like your work to be featured, submit your pictures to the Eatocracy Flickr pool or leave a link in the comments. We'll get in touch if what we see makes us weak at the knees.
The next time I read a blog, I hope that it does not disappoint me as much as this particular one. I mean, Yes, it was my choice to read, nonetheless I genuinely thought you'd have something useful to say. All I hear is a bunch of moaning about something you could fix if you were not too busy looking for attention.
Makes me hungry for some BBQ and it's still morning... This fountain would look even better if someone would burp it! Yeah, that's right, you've got to "burp your fountain" and that is the technical term for it. You "burp your fountain" to get the air bubbles out of the center cylinder. If you don't burp it the air bubbles in that cylinder acts like a plug and barely lets your BBQ (or fondue) flow up the cylinder and you get a drippy look, just like you see in the video. It still looks awesome, I would eat it without hesitation, but that's the solution! That is a Sephra 27" Aztec that the BBQ sause is running in.
Behold the great Fountain of BBQ!
Come dip at the alter of the sauce!
That's once heck of a redneck concept for someone from above the Mason Dixon Line. Right On! I have new plans for July 4th.
I want one of those so I can make it flow with some Big Billy's BBQ Sauce. Yummmmy!
Dear Barbecue Sauce Fountain,
I love you.
All the best,
The Frugal Hostess
