Definition: A cotton cloth with extremely fine openings that is used for a variety of culinary purposes, among the most notable being to drain cheese curds of whey (thus the name). It is also often used to wrap fine herbs and spices to be used and then removed in soups in which a ultrasmooth consistency is desired
